THE LOWDOWN
EVERTON
- Following last weekend’s FA Cup triumph against Brentford, Frank Lampard and Everton were brought right back down to earth with shuddering halt the following Tuesday night, losing 3-1 away at Newcastle despite taking the lead at St. James’ Park.
- The Toffees lost both Yerry Mina and Demarai Gray to injuries in that match and they are going to miss out here, whilst the visit of Leeds is expected to come too soon for the likes of Abdoulaye Doucoure, Ben Godfrey and Fabian Delph.
LEEDS UTD
- Leeds Utd came back from 3-1 down to draw 3-3 in a breathless encounter with Aston Villa this past Wednesday night at Villa Park, the third time that they have scored three goals across their four Premier League fixtures.
- Although their injury situation is getting slightly better, the Whites remain without the services of Patrick Bamford, Junior Firpo, Liam Cooper and Kalvin Phillips and the latter two especially are proving big misses from a defensive perspective.

THE PREDICTION
A mouth-watering encounter is in prospect at Goodison Park as old enemies Frank Lampard and Marcelo Bielsa prepare to lock horns once again. Although ‘Spygate’ is now in the past, both bosses would no doubt love to get one over on the other in what is a crucial encounter for each. The hosts come into this one on the back of four straight Premier League defeats, but a partisan home crowd is expected for Lampard’s first top flight match in charge of the Toffees at Goodison Park. One thing you can normally rely on when either of these two teams play are goals. Lampard’s two matches in charge of Everton so far have seen over 2.5 goals scored, whilst the same outcome has occurred in seven of Leeds Utd’s last eight Premier League fixtures. Therefore, backing over 2.5 goals to be scored in this one has to be favoured regardless of who comes out on top.
Tip: OVER 2.5 GOALS
