CRYSTAL PALACE PREVIEW: GLASNER UNDER PRESSURE

There is some unease around Selhurst Park at the moment with the Eagles still waiting for their first Premier League win of the campaign, with three draws and three defeats from their first six league games, although they have at least made it into the round of 16 of the Carabao Cup.

Last weekend's defeat to Everton was a particularly difficult pill to swallow given that it was against another struggling outfit, as Marc Guehi's early opener was undone by two Dwight McNeil strikes in the second half.

LIVERPOOL PREVIEW: TABLE-TOPPERS

Liverpool took advantage of Man City dropping points last weekend to go top of the Premier League table courtesy of their hard-fought 1-2 victory at Wolves, and they will now look to press home that advantage in the early kick-off on Saturday.

Their UEFA Champions League campaign continued with a 2-0 victory over Bologna on Wednesday, and that is now two wins from two in the revamped league phase of Europe's premier club competition.

CRYSTAL PALACE TEAM NEWS: FOUR STILL OUT AS FRANCA SUFFERS SETBACK

There is no change in the Palace treatment room as Chadi Riad, Chris Richards, Matheus Franca and Cheick Doucoure are still out, with Franca suffering a setback in his recovery which means he may not feature at all this year.

A behind-the-scenes disciplinary issue has been keeping Rob Holding from being selected, and it is unclear how that situation is going to resolve itself.

PREDICTED XI (3-4-1-2): Henderson; Lacroix, Guehi, Lerma; Munoz, Wharton, Kamada, Mitchell; Nketiah, Eze; Mateta

UNAVAILABLE: Richards (Injured), Riad (Injured), Franca (Injured), Doucoure (Injured)

QUESTIONABLE: Holding (Out of favour)

LIVERPOOL TEAM NEWS: ELLIOTT OUT, CHIESA DOUBTFUL

The only certain absentee is Harvey Elliott with a fractured foot, but summer arrival Federico Chiesa is also a concern with the Italian not having trained this week.

In terms of team selection, Slot will he tempted to hand Cody Gakpo a start in one of the attacking areas, likely on the left, as the Dutchman has impressed during his fairly limited pitch-time this season.

PREDICTED XI (4-2-3-1): Alisson; Alexander-Arnold, Konate, Van Dijk, Robertson; Mac Allister, Gravenberch; Salah, Szoboszlai, Gakpo; Jota

UNAVAILABLE: Elliott (Injured)

QUESTIONABLE: Chiesa (Injured)

CRYSTAL PALACE VS LIVERPOOL PREDICTION

Oliver Glasner really needs a performance out of his Palace side here with the pressure mounting on the Eagles boss, but he has his work cut out if he is to motivate his team to upset the Premier League's table-toppers. Arne Slot, meanwhile, has become the first Liverpool manager to win eight of his first nine games in charge.

Liverpool have, on occasion, struggled against Palace in recent years. Indeed, they lost at Anfield to Glasner's men back in April. It is difficult to see that happening here though, the the visitors likely to have too much firepower for an Eagles side low on confidence. Expect a comfortable away victory.
