THE LOWDOWN
CHELSEA
- Chelsea were held to a goalless draw by Brentford on Wednesday with both goalkeepers in fine form but Graham Potter remains unbeaten since being installed in the Stamford Bridge hotseat.
- Conor Gallagher was withdrawn with illness midweek but has trained and should be fine, while the likes of Raheem Sterling and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang could well come back into the starting line-up.
MAN UTD
- Man Utd continue to improve under Erik ten Hag with their well-deserved 2-0 victory over Tottenham arguably their best performance of the season, although Cristiano Ronaldo’s antics towards the end of the match did take some of the attention away from the win.
- Ten Hag has confirmed that Ronaldo will not be considered for selection against Chelsea, while Anthony Martial has not yet recovered from his injury.

THE PREDICTION
Man Utd put in an excellent performance against Tottenham in their midweek fixture but backing that up against another big club would be a real statement from Erik ten Hag’s men. The furore surrounding Cristiano Ronaldo’s recent behaviour should not distract from what was an outstanding result and his absence for this fixture will be a boost if anything. Chelsea are incredibly resolute right now though, with no goals conceded in their last five games in all competitions. A draw seems like a likely result here, while under 2.5 goals certainly holds some appeal.
TIP: UNDER 2.5 GOALS
