THE LOWDOWN

BURNLEY

Six straight defeats in the Premier League have left Burnley rooted to the bottom of the Premier League table and they desperately need a positive run of results in the run-up to Christmas, starting with this home fixture against the Hammers.

There were at least some positives to take from their defeat to Arsenal before the international break as they were briefly level with the title-chasers in the second half, only to ultimately succumb to the Gunners in a 3-1 defeat.

WEST HAM

West Ham claimed a much-needed win over Nottingham Forest last time out, which constituted their first win in five Premier League games, and they head into the weekend in ninth place in the Premier League table.

They were certainly made to work hard by Forest as they had to come from 2-1 behind, with a late Tomas Soucek winner handing them all three points.

THE TEAM NEWS

BURNLEY

Lyle Foster continues to receive treatment for his mental wellbeing and is not being considered for selection at the moment.

Ameen Al-Dakhil, Hjalmar Ekdal, Jack Cork and Manuel Benson are all considered doubtful, but Vincent Kompany was not forthcoming when it came to injury specifics in his pre-match press conference.

PREDICTED XI (4-4-2): Trafford; Vitinho, O’Shea, Beyer, Taylor; Gudmundsson, Berge, Brownhill, Koleosho; Amdouni, Rodriguez

UNAVAILABLE: Foster (Personal reasons)

QUESTIONABLE: Al-Dakhil (Injured), Ekdal (Fitness), Cork (Injured), Benson (Fitness)

WEST HAM

Despite initial fears of an injury that would keep him out of this fixture, David Moyes sounded fairly positive in the prospect of Jarrod Bowen taking part. If fit, the Hammers' top scorer is likely to play up front in the absence of Michail Antonio, who picked up a knee problem on international duty.

Mohammed Kudus was said to be suffering from some fatigue after returning from Ghana duty, so the summer signing is a slight doubt.

PREDICTED XI (4-2-3-1): Areola; Coufal, Zouma, Aguerd, Emerson; Alvarez, Ward-Prowse; Kudus, Soucek, Paqueta; Bowen

UNAVAILABLE: Antonio (Injured)

QUESTIONABLE: Kudus (Fatigue), Bowen (Injured)

THE PREDICTION

Burnley, desperate for points to lift themselves off the bottom of the table, will take some heart from West Ham's recent away form in the Premier League, with the Hammers having lost their last three on the road in the division, conceding ten goals in the process. However, Burnley have conceded goals at an alarming rate this season, so both teams scoring is a reasonable assumption when it comes to the betting markets.

BETTING TIP: BOTH TEAMS TO SCORE
