THE LOWDOWN

BURNLEY

  • It was certainly an entertaining affair last time out at Turf Moor as Burnley drew 3-3 with Crystal Palace, a match that the Clarets will have been disappointed not to have won.
  • Both centre-back James Tarkowski and central midfielder Ashley Westwood are suspended for the visit of Tottenham and will likely be replaced by Nathan Collins and Jack Cork in the Clarets’ starting line-up.

TOTTENHAM

  • After falling behind against Leeds Utd last Sunday and being booed off at half time, Tottenham responded to a no doubt animated team talk by new boss Antonio Conte, coming back to win 2-1.
  • Spurs are without Cristian Romero and most likely Giovani Lo Celso too after both suffered injuries over the international break and it would be no surprise if Conte names a largely unchanged side to the one who overcame Leeds Utd with possibly Davinson Sanchez replacing the less experienced Japhit Tanganga

THE PREDICTION

Whilst Tottenham were far from convincing against Leeds Utd, it felt like a match that they would have lost earlier in the season. Now under a new head coach, Spurs appear to have more fight, steel and belief about them, which was shown in the second half against the Whites. Antonio Conte has proven himself to be a winner and will surely trigger a steady improvement in performances match after match. Whilst Burnley are certainly no pushovers, the hosts being without two key players in Tarkowski and Westwood does weaken them ahead of this encounter. The next challenge for Tottenham, is to pick up three points on the road in the Premier League under Conte and are well worth backing to achieve this at Turf Moor, although do so via the draw no bet market.
