THE TEAM NEWS
BURNLEY
In his post-match interview after Manchester City defeated Burnley at the Etihad Stadium on Wednesday evening, Vincent Kompany confirmed that The Clarets had suffered no new injury issues so they would be able to name an unchanged eleven.
He did suggest that ‘maybe one’ of injured defenders Charlie Taylor, Hannes Delcroix and Jordan Beyer could return to the squad for this weekend’s visit of Fulham at Turf Moor on Saturday afternoon.
PREDICTED XI (4-4-2): Trafford; Vitinho, O’Shea, Ekdal, Al-Dakhil; Gudmundsson, Berge, Brownhill, Odobert; Foster, Amdouni
UNAVAILABLE: Redmond (Injured), Koleosho (Injured)
QUESTIONABLE: Delcroix (Injured), Beyer (Injured), Taylor (Injured)
FULHAM
Despite returning to first-team training in recent weeks, Spain international winger Adama Traore will still be unavailable this weekend due to injury. Fellow winger, Harry Wilson, is also still unavailable after suffering an injury in their loss to Newcastle United last weekend.
The Cottagers will also now be without key striker, Mexico international Raul Jimenez, as well as defender Issa Diop, as both have suffered hamstring injuries. Marco Silva has said that Jimenez’s recovery is ‘not going to be quick.’
PREDICTED XI (4-2-3-1): Leno; Castagne, Adarabioyo, Ream, Robinson; Palhinha, Cairney; Decordova-Reid, Pereira, Willian; Muniz
UNAVAILABLE: Bassey (International duty), Diop (Injured), Traore (Injured), Iwobi (International duty), Wilson (Injured), Jimenez (Injured),
QUESTIONABLE: Ballo-Toure (International duty)
THE PREDICTION
In the reverse fixture between these two, Burnley pulled off one of their three victories so far this season. The home team have collected just one point from their last four matches and even their fluency going forward has drifted with just 22 goals scored in 22 games. Fulham have lots of their own injury issues and especially in attack so, especially on the back of a run of just two wins inside 90 minutes in their last 11 matches across all competitions, a low-scoring encounter would appear quite likely for this one.
