THE LOWDOWN
BRIGHTON
- Roberto De Zerbi’s first game in charge of Brighton produced a highly entertaining 3-3 draw with Liverpool last weekend, with Leandro Trossard helping himself to a first hat-trick in Brighton colours.
- The new boss will be tempted to go for an unchanged line-up for the visit of Tottenham, although Moises Caicedo will need to be checked after the Ecuadorian missed training on Thursday.
TOTTENHAM
- A defeat to bitter North London rivals Arsenal last weekend was followed up with a frustrating goalless draw with Frankfurt in the Champions League on Tuesday in what has not been an ideal week for Spurs, although they remain in the upper reaches of the Premier League table.
- Antonio Conte’s planned press conference on Thursday was cancelled due to the death of his close friend and fitness coach Gian Piero Ventrone but what is certain is that Emerson Royal is suspended for this encounter, with Matt Doherty or Djed Spence poised to deputise at right wing-back.

THE PREDICTION
It’s still early days of course for Roberto De Zerbi at Brighton but the early signs are that his attacking philosophies have been taken on board by his players, with the likes of Leandro Trossard set to thrive under his system. Potentially, we can expect more of the same in his first home match in charge, but Antonio Conte will be demanding that his Spurs side respond to what has been a tough week for the London outfit. The hosts, if on the front foot, will be liable to leave gaps in behind and Spurs are more than adept at exploiting that with the attacking players at their disposal. Therefore, an entertaining game featuring over 2.5 goals could be the order of the day.
TIP: OVER 2.5 GOALS
