THE LOWDOWN

BRIGHTON

In what could well be the final few weeks of the Roberto De Zerbi reign at Brighton and Hove Albion, if rumours are to be believed with the Italian heavily linked with the likes of Bayern Munich, Barcelona, Manchester United, Juventus and Liverpool, the Seagulls could well push themselves into the top seven and the European spots for a second successive season.

However, they are fading towards the end of the season and have been underwhelming of late. They come into this one on the back of stealing a point at Turf Moor in a 1-1 draw against Burnley with a remarkable Arijanet Muric own goal. That means they are now winless in their last four games in the Premier League.

MAN CITY

Pep Guardiola once again whinged about football’s scheduling, despite the fact his opposition from the weekend, Chelsea, played 48 hours before Manchester City this week, but the Cityzens, who barely rotated, will be able to have a week off next week after being eliminated from the UEFA Champions League at the hands of Real Madrid last week on penalties.

In that game against Chelsea at the weekend, City moved a step closer to defending their FA Cup triumph. They defeated the Blues by a goal to nil with a late strike from Portugal international midfielder Bernardo Silva. Inside 90 minutes, City are now unbeaten in their last 29 matches across all competitions.

As well as Estupinan, all three of Jack Hinshelwood, Solly March and Kaoru Mitoma are expected to miss the rest of this season, whilst Adam Webster and Julio Enciso could return.

MAN CITY

In his pre-match press conference, Pep Guardiola has confirmed that key forward Erling Haaland remains unavailable for their trip to the AMEX Stadium.

Despite the continued absence of the Norway striker, though, Guardiola has confirmed that both John Stones and Phil Foden 'are ready' for their clash with Brighton.

UNAVAILABLE: Haaland (Injured)

THE PREDICTION

In theory, when Roberto De Zerbi and Pep Guardiola teams meet then it should be an entertaining encounter but that has not necessarily been the case and it hasn’t yet been too open. However, with Brighton desperate to get back on track and ideally well rested for not playing in the last ten days or so up against a City team that are apparently dangerously knackered according to Guardiola, there is a chance Brighton will be able to exploit their title challenging opponents. Both teams scoring would seem a good bet, albeit City should still be favoured.

TIP: CITY TO WIN & BOTH TEAMS TO SCORE
