THE TEAM NEWS

BRIGHTON

Joao Pedro had to withdraw from Brighton’s eventual demolition at the hands of Luton in midweek and Roberto De Zerbi has confirmed that they will have to make a late decision on whether their top scorer will be involved on Saturday afternoon.

Ansu Fati returned to training last week and the Barcelona loanee could be back in the squad this weekend but James Milner has joined the list of absentees, which includes the likes of Kaoru Mitoma due to international duty and Julio Enciso due to injury.

PREDICTED XI (3-4-2-1): Steele; Van Hecke, Dunk, Igor; Lamptey, Gross, Gilmour, Estupinan; Buonanotte, Lallana; Welbeck

UNAVAILABLE: Veltman (Injured), Milner (Injured), March (Injured), Mitoma (International duty), Adingra (International duty), Enciso (Injured)

QUESTIONABLE: Joao Pedro (Injured)

CRYSTAL PALACE

After both put in extremely impressive performances to turn the game around against Sheffield United in midweek, both Eberechi Eze and Michael Olise came off with slight knocks towards the end of that game. Olise’s substitution was ‘precautionary’ but Eze is having scans on a hamstring injury.

Palace remain without the likes of Rob Holding and Joel Ward due to injury but their new signings, Adam Wharton from Blackburn Rovers and Daniel Munoz from Genk, will be available to play at the AMEX Stadium.

PREDICTED XI (4-2-3-1): Henderson; Clyne, Andersen, Guehi, Mitchell; Richards, Lerma; Olise, Hughes, Ayew; Mateta

UNAVAILABLE: Holding (Injured), Ward (Injured), Doucoure (Injured)

QUESTIONABLE: Eze (Injured)

THE PREDICTION

One of English football’s more bizarre but genuine rivalries takes place again on Saturday afternoon. Brighton and Hove Albion have managed just three victories in their last 16 games in the Premier League but that poor run on paper is exaggerated by far too many draws. Crystal Palace are in poor form and one of the weakest sides in the league but will always likely remain quite stubborn under Roy Hodgson. Given those factors, as well as the fact that six of their last nine meetings have finished 1-1, another low-scoring draw would seem quite likely.

TIP: DRAW & UNDER 4.5 GOALS
