THE LOWDOWN

BRIGHTON

  • Brighton failed to build on their win against Watford last weekend as they fell to a 2-0 defeat in midweek away at Man Utd, a match which saw them reduced to ten men after captain Lewis Dunk was sent off.
  • Dunk will be suspended for the visit of Burnley with Shane Duffy likely to be awarded a starting berth, whilst both Enock Mwepu and Jeremy Sarmiento remain out injured.

BURNLEY

  • Burnley fought hard at home to Liverpool this past Sunday, but ultimately fell to a 0-1 defeat against the Reds and remain bottom of the Premier League, without a win in their last 11 top flight fixtures.
  • Sean Dyche faces an anxious wait over the availability of striker Wout Weghorst, who will undergo a late fitness test after sustaining a heavy knock to the hip against Liverpool.

THE PREDICTION

An intriguing battle lies ahead here between Brighton and Burnley in what is a direct contrast in playstyles. Whilst the Seagulls prefer to keep the ball on the floor whenever possible, retaining possession and dictating the tempo of place, Burnley favour a more physical style with aerial balls up towards their front two. Either way, this encounter isn’t likely to be high on entertainment with goals expected to be at a premium. Burnley’s last four Premier League fixtures have seen under 2.5 goals scored and backing the same outcome here looks the smart play, regardless of who comes out on top.

Tip: UNDER 2.5 GOALS
