THE LOWDOWN
BRENTFORD
Since going six Premier League games without a win, Brentford have been in excellent form having won four of their last five games and they go into this final fixture with a very slim chance of a European place, although it would require a lot of pieces to fall into place for that to come to fruition.
The Bees faced Tottenham last weekend and went behind to an early Harry Kane goal, but a stirring second-half comeback saw them claim the win and go within one point of Spurs heading into the last day of the season. Bryan Mbeumo - seemingly thriving in the absence of the suspended Ivan Toney - was the star of the show with two goals and an assist aiding his team in victory.
MAN CITY
Man City's midweek draw with the impressive Brighton may have seen the champions' Premier League winning run stop short at 12 games, but they are now 25 games unbeaten in all competitions as they look to cap off another title-winning league campaign in style.
They were always going to be tested by Roberto De Zerbi's Brighton midweek, and although Phil Foden put Pep Guardiola's side in front midway through the first half, it wasn't long before a Julio Enciso stunner restored parity. The match ended honours even, and City will now have one eye on upcoming finals against Man Utd and Inter Milan in the FA Cup and Champions League respectively.
THE TEAM NEWS
BRENTFORD
Brentford have a mathematical chance of finishing as high as seventh in the Premier League table, so Thomas Frank is likely to play a strong side here. That could well mean an unchanged line-up as his side hunt down a Europa Conference League spot.
Midfield is where Frank most often changes things up, with Josh Dasilva, Frank Onyeka and Mikkel Damsgaard all equally likely to line up alongside more regular starters Mathias Jensen and Vitaly Janelt. Ivan Toney is, of course, suspended.
PREDICTED XI (4-3-3): Raya; Hickey, Pinnock, Mee, Henry; Damsgaard, Janelt, Jensen; Mbeumo, Wissa, Schade
UNAVAILABLE: Cox (International duty), Jansson (Injured), Norgaard (Injured), Lewis-Potter (Injured), Toney (Suspended)
QUESTIONABLE:
MAN CITY
Pep Guardiola stated that no player was definitely ruled out of the final league game of the season, although did not elaborate much more than that. Ruben Dias, Aymeric Laporte, Manuel Akanji and Jack Grealish were deemed not fit enough to make the squad against Brighton, but it would not surprising to see them back in the fold here. John Stones and Phil Foden were both withdrawn as a precaution on Wednesday and may not be risked, while Nathan Ake's condition is still unclear.
Although Pep will be tempted to rest several of his key players ahead of two finals, he has often spoken about keeping players in rhythm, and that could mean that the likes of Ilkay Gundogan, Kevin De Bruyne and Erling Haaland will continue to receive minutes despite the fact the title is already in the bag.
PREDICTED XI (3-2-4-1): Ederson; Akanji, Dias, Laporte; Lewis, Rodri; Mahrez, Gundogan, Alvarez, Grealish; Haaland
UNAVAILABLE:
QUESTIONABLE: Dias (Injured), Laporte (Injured), Akanji (Injured), Ake (Injured), Stones (Fatigue), Foden (Injured), Grealish (Injured)
THE PREDICTION
Although there is a temptation to think City might take their foot off the gas here given that the Premier League title is sealed, Pep Guardiola will have other ideas. He will want his players to maintain their rhythm and confidence ahead of the cup finals, and there is no doubt that some of City's roster will be playing for a starting spot in those upcoming matches. An away win for the champions is predicted.
TIP: MAN CITY TO WIN
