THE LOWDOWN

BRENTFORD

Thomas Frank will be pleased with his side's start to the season with their 2-2 draw with Spurs on the opening weekend followed up with an excellent 0-3 victory at Fulham last weeK.

The win over the Cottagers came courtesy of strike partners Yoanne Wissa and Bryan Mbeumo, the latter whom helped himself to a brace, with the Bees showing that they can still find the net in the absence of the suspended Ivan Toney.

CRYSTAL PALACE

Crystal Palace fell to a narrow 0-1 defeat to Arsenal in their first home fixture of the season with Roy Hodgson less than impressed with the officials for awarding the Gunners the penalty that separated the sides.

Although Arsenal were deserving of their victory, it could have been quite different had Palace capitalised on their opponents going down to ten men midway through the second half. The Eagles pushed for an equaliser in the latter stages, but they were never able to breach Aaron Ramsdale's net.

THE TEAM NEWS

BRENTFORD

Ben Mee has resumed training but will make his return in the EFL Cup midweek, while Josh Dasilva and Shandon Baptiste have both suffered bad injuries and are each set for a significant spell on the sidelines.

The Bees line-up is fairly settled at the moment after a positive start to the campaign, so Frank is unlikely to many changes, if any.

PREDICTED XI (4-3-3): Flekken; Hickey, Collins, Pinnock, Hickey; Janelt, Norgaard, Jensen; Mbeumo, Wissa, Schade

UNAVAILABLE: Mee (Injured), Dasilva (Injured), Baptiste (Injured), Toney (Suspended)

QUESTIONABLE:

CRYSTAL PALACE

The quintet of Nathan Ferguson, Will Hughes, Malcolm Ebiowei, Michael Olise and Matheus Franca remain absent, although Roy Hodgson reported no fresh injury concerns in Friday's press conference.

In light of two solid display from the Eagles, Hodgson will be tempted to go unchanged here.

PREDICTED XI (4-2-3-1): Johnstone; Ward, Andersen, Guehi, Mitchell; Doucoure, Lerma; Ayew, Eze, Schlupp; Edouard

UNAVAILABLE: Ferguson (Fitness), Hughes (Injured), Ebiowei (Fitness), Olise (Injured), Franca (Injured)

THE PREDICTION

Brentford have been scoring for fun so far but they are likely to find Roy Hodgson's Crystal Palace to be the most stubborn opponent they have faced so far. The Eagles have conceded just one goal over the course of their two games to date, continuing a trend from last season which saw them tighten up considerably following Hodgson's re-appointment. With Wilfried Zaha's summer exit and Michael Olise's injury though, they are lacking a little firepower right now, and for that reason we are tipping under 2.5 goals here.

TIP: UNDER 2.5 GOALS
