THE LOWDOWN

BRENTFORD

  • Brentford’s unbeaten run in the Premier League extended to ten games – currently their longest such streak in England’s top division since 1936 – when they held high-flying Arsenal to a 1-1 draw last weekend, although they were aided by a VAR oversight that saw Ivan Toney's equaliser incorrectly allowed to stand.
  • Thomas Frank opted for a defensive 3-5-2 formation to nullify Arsenal’s threat but a return to his more favoured 4-3-3 set-up seems likely for this one.

CRYSTAL PALACE

  • It is now six Premier League games without a win for Crystal Palace after they drew the ‘M23 Derby’ with Brighton last weekend, and Patrick Vieira will be keen to see an improvement in results so that they don’t get dragged into the relegation battle.
  • Wilfried Zaha is a still a couple of weeks away from returning to the squad, while there one two other concerns in the Palace ranks with Will Hughes one of the players currently rated as doubtful.

CRYSTAL PALACE

PREDICTED XI (4-3-3): Guaita; Clyne, Tomkins, Guehi, Mitchell; Doucoure, Hughes, Schlupp; Olise, Mateta, Eze

UNAVAILABLE: Ward (Injured), Zaha (Injured)

QUESTIONABLE: Andersen (Injured), Ferguson (Fitness), Richards (Injured), Hughes (Injured)

THE PREDICTION

Brentford have undoubtedly been one of the toughest sides to beat in the Premier League this season with only Arsenal and Newcastle having lost fewer matches at this stage. Their ten-game unbeaten run in the Premier League is the second longest streak in the division at present and with only three players currently missing through injury, Thomas Frank currently has a deep enough squad to extend that run. A bad time for Palace to be visiting then, with Brentford tipped to pick up the three points.

TIP: BRENTFORD TO WIN
