THE LOWDOWN
BOURNEMOUTH
- Bournemouth were left kicking themselves for a second game in succession last weekend when they let a two-goal lead slip against Leeds, and that is now four league defeats in a row for Gary O’Neil’s side.
- Chris Mepham is suspended due to the Welsh international picking up five yellow cards so Jack Stephens – who featured in the midweek League Cup win over Everton – is poised to deputise.
EVERTON
- It is now just one win in the last seven games in all competitions for Everton, with defeats to Leicester in the Premier League and Bournemouth in the League Cup over the last week certainly not helping morale.
- Dominic Calvert-Lewin is in the treatment room once again and will not feature until after the World Cup, so Neal Maupay is likely to lead the line in his stead as the Toffees take on Bournemouth once again.
THE TEAM NEWS

PREDICTED XI (4-4-2): Travers; Fredericks, Stephens, Senesi, Smith; Billing, Cook, Lerma, Tavernier; Solanke, Moore
UNAVAILABLE: Mepham (Suspended), Neto (Injured), Kelly (Injured), Brooks (Injured)
QUESTIONABLE:
EVERTON
PREDICTED XI (4-2-3-1): Pickford; Patterson, Coady, Tarkowski, Mykolenko; Iwobi, Gueye, Onana; Gray, Maupay, Gordon
UNAVAILABLE: Townsend (Injured), Calvert-Lewin (Injured)
QUESTIONABLE: Godfrey (Injured), Holgate (Injured)
THE PREDICTION
Neither side have had much to shout about lately and both managers will be determined to head into the World Cup break on a positive note after some disappointing results in the Premier League. Another injury to Dominic Calvert-Lewin will certainly not help Frank Lampard’s mood as goals have been a real issue for Everton this season, but the fact they face the league’s leakiest defence does give the Toffees some hope. The Cherries just can’t stop conceding goals at the moment, and given that the League Cup encounter between the two produced five goals midweek, there is a good chance of this encounter providing something similar.
