THE LOWDOWN

BOURNEMOUTH

  • Bournemouth were beaten 2-0 at the hands of Chelsea last time out, but with all bar one side below them in the table also losing in the round of fixtures, little damage was done in the context of the league standings.
  • The Cherries lined up with five at the back at Stamford Bridge, but could opt for a 4-4-2 in this one with it being more winnable on paper, with Dominic Solanke and Kieffer Moore again set to partner up in attack.

CRYSTAL PALACE

  • Patrick Vieira was understandably left absolutely furious with his Crystal Palace side’s showing on Boxing Day, which saw them not only beaten 0-3, but also reduced to nine-men over the course of the contest.
  • Red cards for both Tyrick Mitchell and James Tomkins sees both suspended for this one, whilst the frontline could also be freshed up with Odsonne Edouard a potential option to be brought into the starting line-up.

THE PREDICTION

Expect a reaction from Crystal Palace after their Boxing Day nightmare and their side are well equipped to cause Bournemouth plenty of problems going forward. No doubt the Eagles will have spoken about their goal drought across the last two rounds of fixtures and with Bournemouth expected to push bodies forward at home, it could leave them susceptible to the counter-attack, always a dangerous prospect against a team with Wilfried Zaha among their ranks. It would be a surprise if a team of Crystal Palace’s quality were to lose three league games in row, so back them to get something out of this one whether it be a win or a draw, via the double chance market.

TIP: DOUBLE CHANCE - DRAW/CRYSTAL PALACE
