THE LOWDOWN
ASTON VILLA
- Despite creating a respective number of opportunities away at Chelsea last weekend, Aston Villa slumped to a 3-0 defeat at Stamford Bridge, their second loss of the new season.
- Villa were without Argentinian duo Emiliano Martinez and Emiliano Buendia following their deportation from Brazil during the international break. however, both are expected to return to the side here.
EVERTON
- Everton went behind in the second half at home to Burnley last Monday, only to respond brilliantly by scoring three goals within a six-minute period, emerging 3-1 victors which is their third league win of 2021-21.
- That win was despite the absence of striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin, who will miss out again here through injury alongside Fabian Delph.

THE PREDICTION
An exciting encounter is in prospect here between two sides judged by many to be among the best of the teams not to have finished within the European places last season. Everton have made an outstanding start to the new campaign and currently sit inside the top four with ten points from a possible 12. Aston Villa are lagging behind with four points, but are yet to taste defeat at Villa Park. With creative midfielder Emi Buendia expected to feature here and winger Leon Bailey coming back to full fitness, Dean Smith has plenty of attacking options here and will be sure to utilise them against the Toffees, who despite their good start have just one clean sheet to their name. However, Everton themselves have racked up ten league goals across their four matches played and even without the services of Calvert-Lewin, still represent a large offensive threat. The outcome of this contest looks tough to call, however both teams to score appears very much on the cards.
Tip: BOTH TEAMS TO SCORE
