THE LOWDOWN
ASTON VILLA
- Aston Villa’s fixture run does not get any easier here as, after losing out to reigning Premier League champions Man City last weekend, they now face title challengers Arsenal.
- Tyrone Mings will be given as long as possible to prove his fitness and he will likely replace Calum Chambers if the signs are positive, while the likes of Danny Ings and Jhon Duran will be hoping for more gametime.
ARSENAL
- Arsenal suffered a blow to their title ambitions when they were beaten by Man City midweek and they have now been displaced by Pep Guardiola’s side at the top of the table, although the North London outfit do still have a game in hand over the reigning champions.
- Thomas Partey could return should he make a full recovery but Jorginho will be ready to step in once more if the Ghanaian isn’t fit, while Leandro Trossard is pushing for a first Premier League start for the Gunners and Ben White could be re-instated at right-back after Takehiro Tomiyasu struggled on Wednesday.
THE TEAM NEWS

ARSENAL
PREDICTED XI (4-3-3): Ramsdale; White, Saliba, Gabriel, Zinchenko; Odegaard, Jorginho, Xhaka; Saka, Nketiah, Trossard

THE PREDICTION
This is a real test of Arsenal’s mettle after the disappointment of their midweek defeat to title rivals Man City, coupled with the fact they have picked up just one point from their last three games. Anything less than a victory here and onlookers will start to speak of a ‘collapse’, but there has been enough evidence shown this season that the Gunners are the real deal and can sustain this title race. Expect the visitors to get back on track here with a much-needed three points.
TIP: ARSENAL TO WIN
