THE LOWDOWN

ARSENAL

It's so far, so good for Arsenal who are two from two at this early stage, their latest three points coming courtesy of a hard-fought 0-1 win at Crystal Palace on Monday,

Selhurst is never an easy place to go, and that proved to be the case as the Gunners were unable to find a way through in the first half. It wasn't long after the break when the deadlock was broken though, as club captain Martin Odegaard converted from the spot after Eddie Nketiah was felled. When stand-in full-back Takehiro Tomiyasu was dismissed for two bookable offences, however, it threatened to derail Mikel Arteta's men, but they held on to continue their 100% start to the campaign.

FULHAM

Fulham fell to a 0-3 defeat to Brentford last weekend in a game that simply got away from them when they were reduced to ten men.

The Cottagers went behind just before the break when in-form Yoanne Wissa broke the deadlock, but the game was very much in the balance until Tim Ream's second yellow card came when he was penalised for bringing Wissa down inside the penalty area - a decision that was contested by Marco Silva in the aftermath. Bryan Mbeumo doubled Brentford's lead from the spot, and he added the gloss to the victory by tapping in for his brace in injury-time.

THE TEAM NEWS

ARSENAL

Takehiro Tomiyau's suspension means that Oleksandr Zinchenko - who has struggled for fitness lately - could make his first start of the campaign. As a knock-on effect, centre-back Gabriel could find himself in the starting line-up again after being benched in the first two Premier League games.

Arteta has stated that Gabriel Jesus is ready to play after recovering from injury, but a start would be a surprise as it is more likely that the Brazilian is eased back into action.

PREDICTED XI (4-3-3): Ramsdale; White, Saliba, Gabriel, Zinchenko; Odegaard, Rice, Partey; Saka, Nketiah, Martinelli

UNAVAILABLE: Tomiyasu (Suspended), Timber (Injured), Elneny (Injured)

QUESTIONABLE: Lokonga (Injured), Balogun (Injured)

FULHAM

Tim Ream is suspended following his dismissal last week so Calvin Bassey is set to deputise at centre-back, while veteran winger Willian is a minor doubt. If the Brazilian isn't deemed fit enough, then Bobby De Cordova-Reid looks the strongest candidate to feature, while defensive midfielder Joao Palhinha is expected to come into the starting line-up after a full week of training.

PREDICTED XI (4-2-3-1): Leno; Tete, Diop, Bassey, Robinson; Reed, Palhinha; Wilson, Pereira, De Cordova-Reid; Jimenez

UNAVAILABLE: Ream (Suspended)

QUESTIONABLE: Willian (Injured)

THE PREDICTION

While Arsenal haven't yet hit some of the heights that they reached at times last season, Mikel Arteta will have very few complaints given that they have managed to win both of their Premier League outings so far, not to mention the fact they won the Community Shield. Apart from a couple of defensive absences, the Gunners are in rude health right now and they are heavily favoured here to see off a Fulham side who conceded three at home to Brentford last week. A fast start from a confident Arsenal can put this game to bed, so the hosts to be leading at both half-time and full-time is the tip.

TIP: DOUBLE RESULT – ARSENAL / ARSENAL
