THE PREDICTION
West Ham’s 0-1 defeat at the hands of Everton last time out was a blow for their hopes of finishing inside the Premier League’s top four, however Chelsea’s 0-1 loss at home to Arsenal this past Wednesday means that the gap between the two sides remains at six points. Three points away to Brighton is crucial for David Moyes’ men if they are to maintain their Champions League dream. The 17th-placed Seagulls are now officially safe from relegation, but head into this match severely weakened following red cards for both captain Lewis Dunk and striker Neil Maupay in their 2-1 defeat at the hands of Wolves last Sunday, meaning the two are suspended for this game. West Ham may be set to take advantage of this and their players will be expected to maintain a high intensity throughout this contest, committing themselves fully to every 50-50 and covering every blade of grass knowing how important the three points are from their point of view. For Brighton though, it may be the case of their players having half an eye on the post-season break and the attacking prowess of a West Ham side who have netted seven goals over the course of their last three away league fixtures, should overpower the home side and lead the Hammers to a crucial victory.
