Queens Park Rangers come into this on the back of a penalty shootout victory over League One Rotherham United at Loftus Road in the FA Cup third round last weekend. Mark Warburton’s side will, probably quite reasonably, have their attention drawn to the league whereby a playoff berth is theirs for the taking. They come up against a West Bromwich Albion side that have been immensely frustrating under Valerian Ismael. The construction of The Baggies’ squad appears perfect for Ismael’s direct and intense 3-4-3 style of play but a lack of chances being created from open play means an over-reliance on their set-pieces and they have managed to score just 31 goals in 21 games. These two sides are separated by a point and a place in the Championship table and a game between two evenly matched sides towards the top of the second tier often ends level.
