Monday night football features two sides that have aims of promotion this season. Blackburn Rovers begin this match sitting third, just outside of the top two and the automatic spots but any result that isn’t a loss would see them go above Bournemouth. Boro sit just outside of the top six after an excellent run of form since the appointment of Chris Wilder. Rovers’ exceptional form was always likely to have to return to some form of mean and their 2-0 defeat against a buoyant Hull City in midweek was signs of a slight decline - but no more than that, this is still a very strong side, especially at home. The visitors have had some big moments in second-half stoppage-time against the likes of Blackpool, Mansfield and Reading in the last month. A draw would appear a good bet for this one.
