NEC need five points to achieve mathematical safety in the Eredivisie in what has been an overall impressive return to the top flight but they have likely already done enough to survive with four points from their last three league games. Travelling Ajax have a four-point buffer over PSV in the Eredivisie but they lost 2-1 at their rivals in the KNVB Beker final last Sunday for a fairly disappointing season by their standards. The imminent departure of Erik ten Hag may be affecting team morale but the reigning champions should be able to get the job done here as they take a five-match winning streak to Nijmegen.
