THE PREDICTION
Ajax ended last season on a 23-match unbeaten run in the Eredivisie
with their last five games ending in victory. Of those 23 contests, they
were only unable to claim the three points in four matches on their way
to yet another title. PSV were their closest competitors but they
finished 16 points behind the champions. They come into this on the back
of three successive victories in their Champions League qualifying
campaign and will take confidence from that but they have not beaten
Ajax in their last seven attempts. Both will throw plenty forward in
what should be an attack-minded contest with the pair set to find the
back of the net but Ajax should ultimately prevail.
