JAMAICA PREVIEW: OPPORTUNITY GONE

Under the management of former Iceland boss Heimir Hallgrimsson, Jamaica have a very good chance of qualifying for the expanded 48-team 2026 FIFA World Cup in North America but the ‘Reggae Boyz’ have already been eliminated from this tournament.

They began with a decent performance against Mexico but were undone by a 69th minute winner scored by Gerardo Arteaga. The Jamaicans then suffered a fairly emphatic 3-1 loss to Ecuador, despite the score being 2-1 going into second-half stoppage-time.

VENEZUELA PREVIEW: FINDING FORM

Venezuela started CONMEBOL qualification for the 2026 FIFA World Cup extremely well and they have performed well to already reach the last eight of Copa America. They took advantage of Ecuador being down to ten men to come from behind and win their opener.

After that, they faced a Mexican side that have been underperformers throughout the last 18 months or so. A second-half penalty from former West Bromwich Albion striker Salomon Rondon separated the two sides.

JAMAICA TEAM NEWS: RESTORING SOME PRIDE

Jamaica are already out of the tournament so some rotation is to be expected with Michail Antonio unlikely to start with pre-season around the corner for the West Ham United forward.

PREDICTED XI (3-4-2-1): Waite; Hector, Latibeaudiere, Harding; Lembikisa, Lowe, Palmer, Marshall; Nicholson, Gray; Dixon

UNAVAILABLE: Blake (Injured)

VENEZUELA TEAM NEWS: LIKELY HEAVY ROTATION

With Venezuela already through to the quarter-finals, they have the luxury of changing things up. They will still want to win the group but the likes of Salomon Rondon are expected to sit out.

PREDICTED XI (4-2-3-1): Rafael Romo; Jon Amaburu, Nahuel Ferraresi, Yordan Osorio, Miguel Navarro; Christian Makoun, Jose Martinez; Matias Lacava, Jefferson Savarino, Yeferson Soteldo; Jhonder Cadiz

JAMAICA VS VENEZUELA PREDICTION

This one has the potential to be either an absolute thriller or one of the more tedious games of what is already a low-scoring tournament. Jamaica come into this looking to find a formula and restore some pride ahead of the continuation of FIFA World Cup qualification, whilst Venezuela do still top spot to play for. As a result, the Venezuelans will likely take this a little more seriously and should be backed for a victory and to finish with a 100% record.

JAMAICA VS VENEZUELA TIP: VENEZUELA TO WIN
