- Santos might not have much to play for ahead of the season finale since they already secured a spot in the 2020 Copa Libertadores, but they are tied with Palmeiras in second place. Santos have the edge since they have more victories and a win here would seal that place but they come off a loss at Athletico-PR last time out.
- Santos will be without Felipe Jonatan and Luan Peres, as both are injured, and Para, who has a contract clause that prevents him from playing against Flamengo. Goalkeeper Evandro and midfielder Evandro both had injury problems during the latest training session and are questionable entering this contest so there are some question marks over their line-up.

- Flamengo played their home finale Thursday and destroyed Avai to the tune of a 6-1 win, but they could have easily scored eight or nine goals. They have won their last four league matches, and they also own the league’s strongest attack with 86 goals scored in 37 matches.
- Everton Ribeiro looked fit during Thursday’s match against Avai, so it would be safe to assume his injury is no longer an issue for Flamengo but the same cannot be said for defender Pablo Mari, who is not expected to play due to an undisclosed injury.

THE PREDICTION
Flamengo have lost just once in their last 25 Serie A matches, and they have notched 21 wins during that time. They are undoubtedly the best team not only in Brazil, but in the entire CONMEBOL region, and should be heavy favourites to win here. Santos have been impressive in their own right, however, but they enter this contest having lost two of their last three league matches. Both sides average less than one goal conceded per game, but Flamengo’s attacking power will be too much for Santos. Expect Flamengo to win this match as they will look to end the Serie A season on a strong note.
