THE PREDICTION
Gent crashed out of the Europa Conference League on Thursday night in a 1-2 defeat at home to PAOK for a 1-3 result but they have bigger fish to fry here. The hosts were just one point behind struggling Antwerp ahead of this weekend’s fixtures after six wins on the spin in the Belgian Pro League and they have beaten Club Brugge twice in recent months in both league and cup. Travelling Anderlecht are in superb form too after beating Antwerp 2-1 last Sunday to go eight matches unbeaten across all competitions. Their best work has come at home, though, where Vincent Kompany’s side have won five matches in a row, but this result still looks too close to call confidently any which way. Over 2.5 goals seems likely here with each of Anderlecht’s last three games and three of Gent’s last five seeing at least three scored.
