THE TEAM NEWS

SOUTH AFRICA

Hugo Broos may well have stumbled upon the perfect winning formula with South Africa as they thrashed Namibia the other day so Bafana Bafana are expected to name an unchanged side for this final group stage game.

PREDICTED XI (4-2-2-2): Williams; Mudau, Kekana, Mvala, Modiba; Mokoena, Sithole; Morena, Tau; Zwane, Makgopa

TUNISIA

Jalal Kadri is under major pressure for this final group stage game but he is boosted by the fact there are no fresh injury concerns for the north Africans so he could name an unchanged eleven for this one.

PREDICTED XI (4-4-2): Ben Said; Kechrida, Meriah, Talbi, Abdi; Rafia, Skhiri, Laidouni, Achouri; Msakni, Ben Slimane

THE PREDICTION

South Africa began their 2023 Africa Cup of Nations with a slender 1-0 defeat to Mali but they recovered well to thrash Namibia by four goals to nil with former Brighton midfielder, Percy Tau, starring in that victory. They face a Tunisian side that will need to win this game to ensure qualification for the knockout stages. However, Tunisia play a generally reactive style that makes them difficult to beat on the global stage but limits them on the African continent when the pressure is on to take the game to their opposition. Under 2.5 goals seems inevitable for this one, despite the South Africans’ remarkable victory the other day.

TIP: UNDER 2.5 GOALS
