THE TEAM NEWS

SOUTH AFRICA

Changes could well be made to South Africa’s starting eleven after they suffered a 2-0 defeat to Mali in their opening encounter. There are no injury concerns for this one, though, so can name an unchanged eleven if they so choose.

PREDICTED XI (4-4-2): Williams; Mudau, Xulu, Mvala, Modiba; Tau, Mokoena, Sithole, Maseko; Zwane, Makgopa

NAMIBIA

Collin Benjamin only made two substitutions in their opener against Tunisia but an impressive performance and result, as well as no injuries or suspensions occurring, means he will likely name an unchanged side for this one.

PREDICTED XI (4-1-4-1): Kazapua; Nyambe, Amutenya, Haukongo, Hanamub; Petrus; Iimbondi, Shitembi, Tjiueza, Hotto; Shalulile

THE PREDICTION

In the last couple of years, the South African national team have gradually improved but they headed into the tournament on the back of some poor performances and started really poorly. Bafana Bafana were comfortably defeated by two goals to nil by Mali the other day. Namibia, though, earned their first ever Africa Cup of Nations victory, defeating one of the pre-tournament favourites, Tunisia, by a goal to nil. South Africa should bounce back but predicting a victory against such stubborn opposition would be a risk and a low-scoring encounter, regardless of the match result, looks the way to go for this one.
