THE TEAM NEWS

IVORY COAST

In a fiery 2-1 victory over Mali the other day, Ivory Coast received five yellow cards but they also suffered two sendings off, too, meaning that both Odilon Kossounou and Oumar Diakite are both suspended for this semi-final as a result.

PREDICTED XI (4-2-3-1): Y. Fofana; Aurier, Boly, Ndicka, Konan; Seri, Kessie; Pepe, S. Fofana, Gradel; Kouame

DR CONGO

Sebastian Desabre has a fully fit and available Democratic Republic of Congo squad as they continue to make changes in attack but a 3-1 victory over Guinea on Saturday makes it likely that they will be unchanged for this one against the Ivory Coast.

PREDICTED XI (4-2-3-1): Mpasi; Kalulu, Mbemba, Inonga, Masuaku; Pickel, Moutoussamy; Elia, Bongonda, Wissa; Bakambu

THE PREDICTION

After back-to-back defeats in the group stages to Nigeria and Equatorial Guinea in which they conceded five goals, Ivory Coast parted company with Jean-Louis Gasset but their caretaker boss, former Reading midfielder Emerse Fae, has seen them through a penalty shootout victory over defending champions Senegal and then a strong Mali side in the quarter-finals with the hosts eyeing up a surprise tournament win. They face a Democratic Republic of Congo side that have a strong group of attacking players but are yet to really flow just yet. However, with that talented group they are always in a game with a chance of scoring, even if the Ivorians remain favourites to make it through to the final.

TIP: IVORY COAST TO WIN & BOTH TEAMS TO SCORE
