THE TEAM NEWS

GUINEA-BISSAU

Guinea-Bissau have conceded six goals and suffered two defeats in their opening two games and will know that only a fairly hefty victory will give them any chance of progressing so Baciro Cande may be tempted to name a slightly more attacking line-up for this one.

PREDICTED XI (4-2-3-1): Djoco; Encada, Djalo, S. Mane, F. Cande; Semedo, Bikel; Rodrigues, Mendes Gomes, Balde; Dju

UNAVAILABLE:

QUESTIONABLE:

NIGERIA

Jose Peseiro switched the system for Nigeria’s 1-0 defeat of Ivory Coast the other day and that victory will give him the confidence to stick with their back three. There were slight concerns over the fitness of left-back Zaidu Sanusi.

PREDICTED XI (3-4-3): Nwabali; Ajayi, Troost-Ekong, Bassey; Aina, Onyeka, Iwobi, Sanusi; Chukwueze, Osimhen, Lookman

UNAVAILABLE:

QUESTIONABLE: Sanusi (Injured)

THE PREDICTION

Guinea-Bissau have arguably been the weakest team in this competition, despite some interesting players – especially in attack. They will, as mentioned, have to force themselves onto Nigeria and enjoy a relatively heavy win to ensure they can get through to the knockouts. Nigeria remained fairly unconvincing in their performance the other day but the switch to the back three helped them appear very content and comfortable against the Ivorians’ attack. Nigeria should have more than enough to contain a poor side and get over the line to progress, fairly remarkably, as possible group winners.

TIP: NIGERIA TO WIN & UNDER 3.5 GOALS
