THE TEAM NEWS
EQUATORIAL GUINEA
Equatorial Guinea have been one of the surprise packages in the group stages of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations. Juan Micha decided to go with his strongest eleven against Ivory Coast and their 4-0 hammering of the Ivorians means they will likely remain unchanged, albeit Jannick Buyla could start after scoring off the bench.
PREDICTED XI (4-4-1-1): Owono; Akapo, Orozco, Coco, Ndong; Salvador, Ganet, Bikoro, Miranda; Machin; Nsue
UNAVAILABLE:
QUESTIONABLE:
GUINEA
Serhou Guirassy returned to the starting eleven for Guinea but he was substituted after 63 minutes as they were beaten 2-0 by defending champions, Senegal. Antoine Conte once again rotated with Ibrahim Diakite and their only change could well be Diakite starting after Naby Keita returned to the starting line-up, too.
PREDICTED XI (4-2-3-1): Kone; Diakite, Sow, M. Camara, I. Sylla; Moriba, Diawara; A. Camara, Keita, Guilavogui; Guirassy
UNAVAILABLE:
QUESTIONABLE: Conte (Injured)
THE PREDICTION
Equatorial Guinea began their Africa Cup of Nations campaign with a 1-1 draw with Nigeria before the hammering Guinea-Bissau by four goals to two and then thrashing hosts Ivory Coast, 4-0. Under the management of Juan Micha, playing a progressive and proactive style of football, now face a Guinea side that were fairly underwhelming in the group stages, despite having a very impressive spine throughout. Equatorial Guinea will take the game to Guinea and expect to score but Guinea, with the likes of Serhou Guirassy back involved, should be able to create at least one key moment in attack so both teams scoring would appear a good bet.
TIP: BOTH TEAMS TO SCORE
