THE TEAM NEWS

CABO VERDE

The only slight concern for Cabo Verde would be the fitness of Steven Moreira, who was replaced by Willy Semedo deep into second-half stoppage-time. If he is available then Pedro Leitao Brito is expected to name an unchanged eleven for this quarter-final.

PREDICTED XI (4-3-3): Vozinha; Semedo, Costa, Pico, Paulo; Monteiro, Pina, Duarte; Mendes, Bebe, Cabral

UNAVAILABLE:

QUESTIONABLE: Moreira (Injured)

SOUTH AFRICA

Hugo Broos has made the decision mid-way through the tournament to drop both Nyiko Mobbie and Siyanda Xulu to the bench and neither of those played any minutes as Bafana Bafana defeated Morocco by two goals to nil.

PREDICTED XI (4-2-3-1): Williams; Mudau, Kekana, Mvala, Modiba; Mokoena, Sithole; Morena, Zwane, Tau; Makgopa

THE PREDICTION

Cabo Verde have arguably been the most impressive team in the tournament thus far. Their quarter-final appearance on Saturday is already the furthest they have ever gone in an Africa Cup of Nations but they will believe they can go even further. They defeated Mauritania the other day, whilst South Africa pulled off a major upset as they defeated Morocco by two goals to nil. Whilst the South Africans will be buoyant from that win, it has to be said that Cabo Verde remain the favourites for this one.

TIP: CABO VERDE TO WIN
