THE TEAM NEWS

CABO VERDE

Cabo Verde were forced to take defender Steven Moreira off the bench on Friday afternoon but there are no fresh injury concerns bar that so Pedro Leitao Brito could name an unchanged eleven for this one against Egypt.

PREDICTED XI (4-3-3): Vozinha; Moreira, Costa, Pico, Paulo; Duarte, Pina, Monteiro; Mendes, Bebe, Cabral

UNAVAILABLE:

QUESTIONABLE: Moreira (Injured)

EGYPT

The biggest news from the last few days in terms of injuries has to be the hamstring injury that Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah suffered in first-half stoppage-time. The extent remains unknown but he is not expected to be involved as The Pharaohs face Cabo Verde.

PREDICTED XI (4-2-3-1): El Shenawy; Kamal, Hegazi, Abdolmonem, Hamdy; Fathy, Elneny; Marmoush, Ashour, Trezeguet; Mohamed

UNAVAILABLE:

QUESTIONABLE: Salah (Injured)

THE PREDICTION

Cabo Verde’s 3-0 hammering of Mozambique means that the islanders have already confirmed their position at the top of their group. Their impressive Africa Cup of Nations campaign so far began with a 2-1 defeat of Ghana last week and no matter the result of this one they will stay top. As a consequence, they could be tempted to name a heavily rotated eleven on Monday. Egypt are likely to be without Mohamed Salah but Trezeguet was excellent off the bench against Ghana on Thursday and backing Egypt would seem a sensible bet against a likely weakened Cabo Verde side; especially with Egypt needing a victory.

TIP: EGYPT TO WIN
