THE TEAM NEWS

ANGOLA

Pedro Goncalves did make a couple of fairly early substitutions against Burkina Faso the other day with Cagliari’s Zito Luvumbo and Jeremie Bela, of Clermont, replacing Gilberto and Gelson Dala. Those two could come into the starting line-up for this one.

PREDICTED XI (4-3-3): Neblu; Eddie, Gaspar, Kinito, To Carneiro; Fredy, Bruno Paz, Estrela; Gilberto, Mabululu, Gelson Dala

NAMIBIA

Former Hamburg defender Collin Benjamin managed to oversee Namibia sharing a goalless draw with Mali on Wednesday evening and that solid 4-1-4-1 line-up is expected to persist as they shut down their opposition with no injuries or suspensions coming up either.

PREDICTED XI (4-1-4-1): Kazapua; Kamberipa, Amutenya, Haukongo, Hanamub; Petrus; Muzeu, Tjiueza, Katua, Hotto; Shalulile

THE PREDICTION

Angola were very impressive in their AFCON group stage as they topped Group D above one of the pre-tournament favourites, Algeria, and a semi-finalist from 2022, Burkina Faso. Coached by the proactive Pedro Goncalves, the Angolans now face a Namibia side that won their first ever match at the Africa Cup of Nations when they defeated Tunisia last week but they were then hammered by South Africa before somehow edging through with a goalless draw against Mali. Angola are firm favourites for this one and will be expected to keep a clean sheet, too.

TIP: ANGOLA TO WIN TO NIL
