THE LOWDOWN
SOUTH KOREA
- South Korea can still technically finish second-place in Group H, but it would take a minor miracle to pull it off when considering the goal difference swing required between them and Germany, not to mention needing Colombia to beat Morocco.
- In the end, it was a poor start that proved their downfall last time out against the Lionesses of Atlas, conceding the only goal of the game in just the sixth minute and despite having 16 shots, South Korea will be disappointed to have managed just one on target.
GERMANY
- Germany were victims of arguably the biggest shock result of the tournament so far in the second round of group games, losing 1-2 to Colombia after conceding a late winner from a corner, keeping them on three points in Group H and only above Morocco on goal difference.
- Head coach Martina Voss-Tecklenburg has confirmed the availability of centre-back Marina Hegering after the Wolfsburg star missed Germany’s last two group games through injury and when considering their poor defending in the Colombia match, her presence would be most welcome.

THE PREDICTION
No doubt Germany’s loss at the hands of Colombia will have jolted them into life and perhaps complacency had its part to play after they had previously thrashed Morocco. Don’t expect a similar story here though with the German players likely to be locked in from minute one with the intention of not giving South Korea a chance. Whilst their opponents can afford to play with freedom and no pressure on their shoulders, the quality of Germany should shine through and see them ultimately triumph by at least two clear goals, ensuring their place in the next round.
TIP: GERMANY TO WIN WITH -1 HANDICAP
