The 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar begins on November 20. Qatar face Ecuador at the Al Bayt Stadium in Al Khor to kick off the tournament. It would be a surprise to see either of those teams be remotely prolific at the tournament but goals remain very much on the cards as the month goes on.

There have been over two and a half thousand goals scored in the 21 editions of the competition, but just 13 individual players have managed double figures in the history of the tournament. Here's a look at those that have reached double figures for World Cup goals…

Harry Kane won the 2018 Golden Boot award in Russia with six goals. The Tottenham Hotspur striker will be gunning to become the first player ever to be the top scorer at back-to-back FIFA World Cups.

Two greats of the game, Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo, have won nearly every award there is to win, both individually and with their clubs, but they remain without this prestigious gong. The other runners and riders that should be among the top scorers are the usual suspects with France duo Karim Benzema and Kylian Mbappe as well as Romelu Lukaku of Belgium set to represent Europe's main hopefuls with the likes of Neymar, Vinicius, Darwin Nunez and Lautaro Martinez all searching from South America. If fit, Heung-min Son remains Asia's best chance of a first ever Golden Boot winner from AFC.
