THE LOWDOWN
KOREA REPUBLIC
- South Korea began their 2022 FIFA World Cup group stage campaign with quite an impressive goalless draw against a strong Uruguayan side. The Koreans were arguably the better side in the first-half but it was a generally cagey match with limited chances for both sides.
- Son Heung-min was the biggest injury concern for the South Koreans prior to the tournament but the Tottenham Hotspur forward appeared comfortable in his face mask the other day, leaving little to be concerned about.
GHANA
- It was a thrilling but probably frustrating 3-2 defeat to Portugal that kicked off Ghana’s group stage. The Black Stars went behind to a very dubious penalty award before fighting back quickly, having their two most effective players subbed off and then conceding twice in three minutes before notching what turned out to be a late consolation.
- Otto Addo made substitutions based on players with a yellow card, albeit detrimental to the team, so that is a clear indication the likes of Mohammed Kudus and Andre Ayew will line up in a similar team lineup to the one that performed admirably against the Portuguese.

THE PREDICTION
Ghana have now scored in each of their last six FIFA World Cup appearances after their entertaining second-half against Portugal. After surprise qualification, they will not want their trip in Qatar to end early but know a victory is pretty much imperative in this match. They face a South Korean side that showed some enterprise but will be expected to show a lot more with Son Heung-min likely to see more of the ball in advanced areas. This could be, quite, one of the more entertaining games at this tournament.
TIP: BOTH TEAMS TO SCORE
