THE PREDICTION
Liverpool will be shorn of three key players here in Mo Salah, Sadio Mane and Naby Keita due to the African Cup of Nations and with injuries to the likes of Divock Origi and Takumi Minamino, they are short in numbers from an offensive perspective heading into this semi-final first leg at the Emirates Stadium. Arsenal are coming off the back of an agonising 1-2 Premier League defeat at home to Man City which saw them lead and almost hold out for a draw despite being reduced to ten men. The Gunners have excelled in this competition so far, conceding just one goal and scoring 16 goals in their four matches that have led to them reaching this stage. With home advantage in their favour against a depleted Liverpool side, Mikel Arteta’s side have an excellent change of accruing a first leg lead provided they maintain their recent level of performances, therefore back Arsenal to triumph via the safety of the draw no bet market.
*This match has since been postponed due to a series of positive Covid-19 cases among the Liverpool playing staff.
