THE PREDICTION
It’s been under two weeks since Maurizio Pochettino became the new PSG manager but the Argentine already has an opportunity to secure some silverware. The reigning league champions have completely dominated the Trophee des Champions in recent years having won the last seven iterations. Indeed, the last time they lost this match was back in 2010. Their opponents? Marseille. A repeat seems unlikely here though, with Marseille not exactly in blistering form right now. They have won just once in their last five league games and although they did beat PSG in their last meeting in September, that has to be seen as a one-off given that you have to go all the way back to 2011 to find the previous time they have triumphed in a fixture between the two. Pochettino will be desperate to get his hands on a trophy so early on in his tenure and his talented side are expected to prevail here.
