THE PREDICTION
This should be a really entertaining semi-final between two sides in form as Anderlecht and Genk meet both unbeaten over their last three games over all competitions. Vincent Kompany’s side are a force to be reckoned with at home but had their unbeaten record at Lotto Park broken recently by Kortrijk, proving that it can be done. Since then Anderlecht have beaten Standard liege in the league and edged past Cercle Brugge in the quarter-finals to be rewarded a home tie here, where they are still exceptionally hard to beat. Travelling Genk, however, have scored eight goals over their last three matches, all wins, to bring themselves back within reach of second place in the Belgian pro League after a small blip. They did lead the table at one stage of the season but with Club Brugge racing away with that title once again this is now a season-defining knockout match for both sides. Whomever wins here will likely be the favourite in the final and recent history suggests the hosts will come out on top. Anderlecht have won the last three meetings between the pair and have not lost at home to Genk since 2018. Take the hosts to qualify and both teams to score in normal time here considering Genk have scored in each of their last eight games.
