Félix Auger-Aliassime vs Borna Coric Prediction

We have a quality match-up in the men’s tie as Canada’s Felix Auger-Aliassime faces Croatia’s Borna Coric. The 24-year-old from Montreal partners fellow Quebecois Leylah Fernandez and they will be fired up to do well this week.

Auger-Aliassime comes into the United Cup with high hopes for 2025 and he will be hoping to add a layer of consistency to his play after a mixed 2024.

Borna Coric has been way off it however and the Croatian has dropped to 90 in the world rankings. He has spent half his 2024 on the Challenger Tour with the other half on the ATP Tour but it has been a largely uninspiring year. He is always capable of pulling off an upset but it is hard to have too much confidence in him.

The head-to-head actually lies with Borna Coric as he has won the last two meetings as he leads 2-1. The last meeting was 2022 however and the two before that came back in 2019. Auger-Aliassime has come on leaps and bounds since then.

We favour Auger-Aliassime to get the win here and lead Canada to victory. If it is not in the singles, we expect them to clinch it in the doubles.
