'Team TSZ' is a collective FPL team where tough decisions are made during uncompromising board room meetings. Team TSZ finished a lofty 1390 in its debut year, and followed that up with a respectable 88178 in its second season. we don't talk about the third season. How will the fourth season go? Stay tuned!

‘Team TSZ’ consists of:

Trystan Pugh

Alex Sarwar

HOW DID WE GET ON IN GAMEWEEK 24?

GW points: 59
GW average:
50
GW rank:
2,936,497
Overall rank:
472,791 (▼)

Team TSZ ended up with 59 points thanks to Diogo Jota’s gameweek-saving 16 points on Thursday night, with 59 points overall still another red arrow that takes us within a hair’s breadth of falling out of the top 500k. Captaining Joao Cancelo proved a decent decision considering the guys had been considering giving Phil Foden the armband who, spoiler alert, gets the chop this week despite next facing a porous Norwich City. That sounds like a quickly made bad decision to me.

DOUBLE GAMEWEEK 25 TEAM

Formation: 3-4-3
Captain: Bruno Fernandes
Vice-captain: Ronaldo
Transfers made: 2 (Gray > Bruno Fernandes / Foden > Douglas Luiz)
Point deductions: -4

“Right, shall we quickly make some bad decisions?” said Trystan as we started the Skype session.

Two very obvious things needed to happen this Double Gameweek 25 and that was to bring in Bruno Fernandes, whose last double saw a total of 23 points in Gameweek 22, and for the injured Demarai Gray to depart. Trystan and Alex don’t even blink at the notion of a -4 these days as their apathy for the team continues to transform into a genuine dislike. Trystan crossed out Gray and clicked in Fernandes to tot up the damage before a long conversation about which budget player to pick ensued. Long conversations about bench fodder players are my favourite. Thankfully, I had a lovely sandwich to keep me busy.

Whilst Phil Foden has been disappointing from a fantasy perspective in recent gameweeks, a trip to Norwich does seem an odd time to get rid of any Man City players as they currently lead the Premier League by what feels like 1000 points. The clear strategy was to bring in the effervescent Jacob Ramsey this gameweek, thus allowing for Fernandes to be swapped for Mo Salah in Double Gameweek 26 where the Egyptian will likely be drowning in triple-captain armbands. Whilst the guys have certainly missed the Ramsey boat, a transfer this weekend would be akin to hurriedly lassoing their sinking dinghy on to the stern as it’s leaving the harbour.

However, a quick check on the live rankings (something that too-serious FPL managers stare at on Friday night instead of talking to their loved ones/friends at the pub/feeding themselves properly) revealed that Salah’s price will be increasing to £12.9m tonight. With their plans scuppered, Alex let out an anguished groan that lasted for about four seconds. That equates to roughly eight ‘H’s in your standard ‘Argh’, e.g. ‘ARGHHHHHHHH’.

Apparently determined to take any budget Aston Villa player going with a new-found bias after we watched their fun 3-3 clash on Wednesday night at the pub, the pair settled for Douglas Luiz and exacted the -4.

“How is Antonio defrauding his way into the next three weeks?” exclaimed Alex. “He’s like a cat with nine lives!”

(Bit awkward, considering the whole Kurt Zouma catastrophe)

Clearly lacking the motivation to debate whether to captain Bruno Fernandes or Cristiano Ronaldo, Trystan and Alex turned to me to settle it. Sometimes I think they do this just to check that I am listening.
“Errr David de Gea” I said, confirming that I had not been, before siding with Trystan that Fernandes is likelier to play more minutes. I would not be surprised if both players score three points each over the next two games.
