TEAM NEWS & PREDICTED LINE-UPS

ARSENAL

• Unai Emery made seven changes for the midweek Europa League tie against Eintracht Frankfurt as only David Luiz (£5.9m), Sead Kolasinac (£5.4m), Granit Xhaka (£5.3m) and Pierre Emerick-Aubameyang (£11.0m) retained their starting spots.
• Kolasniac was brought off early in that midweek tie but Emery has suggested the full-back should be fine for the match against Aston Villa: "He played on Sunday, tonight and he felt a small problem but I think he's fine."
• Both Paul Tierney (£5.4m) and Hector Bellerin (£5.4m) are set to play for the u23’s this week as the duo continue to step up their intensity in a bid to return to full fitness. The club confirmed last week that Alexandre Lacazette (£9.4m) will be out until October but Rob Holding (£4.5m) is back in contention to be involved with the first team: "Rob Holding is getting closer to us now. Tomorrow, Hector Bellerin and Kieran Tierney will play with the under-23s."

ASTON VILLA

• Dean Smith has an almost fully-fit squad to choose from with just Jonathan Kodjia (£5.4m) – who has a fractured cheek bone – and James Chester (£4.4m) – with a lack of match fitness – set to be sidelined.
• Matt Targett (£4.4m) has made his return from injury and is in contention to start: "Matt Targett will be in contention to start, be in the squad. James Chester has not actually played an 11 v 11 game for us, which we will look to arrange over the next few weeks."
• Another who will be pushing for inclusion in the starting XI is midfielder Trezeguet (£5.3m), who has served out his suspension. Trezeguet was replaced by Anwar El Ghazi (£5.5m) in GW5 and the midfielder is likely to be brought straight back into the starting XI at either El Ghazi’s or Jota’s (£5.9m) expense.
• Marvelous Nakamba (£4.4m) made the start last week over Douglas Luiz (£4.6m) and given the defensive minded nature of the player, he may get the nod again for the Arsenal clash.

BOURNEMOUTH

• After playing 61 minutes for the u21’s on Tuesday night, Simon Francis (£4.4m) and Lloyd Kelly (£4.4m) are getting much closer to a return to first team action: “We’re pretty much in the same place but added by the returns of Francis and Kelly in the week, it’s great to see them back after so long. The squad is getting stronger."
• Other than that, the same players who were out last week are missing again. The list includes: David Brooks (£6.3m), Junior Stanislas (£5.9m), Dan Gosling (£4.9m), Arnaut Danjuma (£5.8m) and Charlie Daniels (£4.4m).
• Adam Smith (£4.4m) is another who will be out for an unknown period of time following his hamstring injury: "Adam has got a hamstring problem. We first thought it was going to be a long-term absence, but we're now hopeful it's not going to be. But with hamstring injuries, it's difficult to tell exactly what he'll miss. We hope to get him back soon." With injuries mounting to Bournemouth’s full-backs, Jack Stacey (£4.4m) got the nod in Smith’s absence last weekend.
• Lewis Cook (£5.0m) returned last time out in the win against Everton and Howe was effervescent in his praise for the midfielder: “He’s a very important, someone we really like as a player. From this injury he was very focused and driven to return to his best. He’s come back in really good shape and I’m delighted for him."
• Ryan Fraser (£7.3m) was dropped to the bench in favour of Harry Wilson (£6.0m) for the match against Everton. After failing to impress, Wilson was replaced by Fraser around the hour mark and could come back into the starting XI this weekend.

BRIGHTON

• After a bout of illness forced Martin Montoya (£4.5m) to miss last week's draw against Burnley, Potter has confirmed the wing-back is now fit for the weekend: "Martin Montoya was ill last week, but he's recovered now." His return could see Solly March (£4.9m) switch back to the left-hand side, Dan Burn (£4.5m) move back into defence and Shane Duffy (£5.0m) drop to the bench.
• Other than Montoya, Potter stated it’s "as you were" on the injury front. Ezequiel Schelotto (not in FPL), Leandro Trossard (£5.9m), Jose Izquierdo (£5.4m) and Alireza Jahanbakhsh (£5.8m) are all out, but Leon Balogun (£4.4m) has an “outside chance” of featuring.

BURNLEY

• Having missed the last two matches through injury, Johann Berg Gudmundsson (£6.0m) is back in contention for Burnley’s weekend match against Norwich: “He’s fit, but he hasn’t trained a lot so we’ve got to make a decision with that”. If Gudmundsson is thrown straight in, then expect Aaron Lennon (£4.9m) to be the man to make way. Danny Drinkwater (£4.5m) remains Dyche’s only absentee.
• Lennon’s position may also come under threat from Jeff Hendrick (£5.4m), who replaced Lennon and then scored the equaliser against Brighton last week. The manager has spoken about how pleased he is with the depth of his squad and how he expects them all to be ready to be called upon: “I mentioned it in pre-season. I think we’ve got a competitive squad. It doesn’t matter who we play, we want them to be ready to perform and I’ve been pleased with that.”

CHELSEA

• Lampard has spoken about the availability of Mason Mount (£6.5m) after the midfielder was forced off midweek: "He has got a chance. We saw the image of the tackle made it look bad. We are trying to get him moving today, I will have to make the call before the game. His attitude is good so he will give everything to play. There was a lot of swelling, didn’t look the best, if there is proper damage you can’t do much. We won’t take any risks, there is a bigger picture, we will do our best.” Mount was replaced by Ross Barkley (£5.7m) midweek and the midfielder is likely to be the one who steps up in Mount’s absence.
• In better news, N’Golo Kante (£5.0m) is fit again but Lampard has made it clear that he will need to manage how quickly the midfielder is reintegrated back into the starting XI: “It is a boost, we know the importance of him. Now we have to manage him. I am delighted to work with him and if he can bring a positive for us then I will take it into consideration.”
• The manager has utilised a back three in Chelsea’s last two matches and it is a formation he seems to be settling on for the time being. With Antonio Rudiger (£6.0m) out injured, Kurt Zouma (£4.9m), Andreas Christensen (£5.0m) and Fikayo Tomori (£4.5m) are set to play at the back, though Cesar Azpilicueta (£5.9m) is an option on the right side of that back three – particularly once Reece James (£5.0m) returns from injury.

CRYSTAL PALACE

• Roy Hodgson confirmed in his presser that other then Connor Wickham (£4.5m), he has a fully-fit squad at his disposal. This means that Martin Kelly (£4.1m), Scott Dann (£4.5m) and Cheikhou Kouyate (£4.9m) will all be available for selection: “It’s taken Kouyate a while to recover from that twisted ankle, but he’s made a remarkable recovery and trained with the squad today."
• Although not traditionally one to ring the changes, after suffering a 4-0 defeat at the hands of Spurs last time out Hodgson may consider alterations to the side that began that match. James McCarthy (£4.5m) came on for the injured Kouyate and could be set for inclusion from the start, though James McArthur (£5.4m) will be hoping for a recall after being left out. Up front, Christian Benteke (£5.8m) will be pushing Jordan Ayew (£5.1m) for minutes.

EVERTON

• It’s as you were on the injury front for Everton and Marco Silva with Jean-Philippe Gbamin (£4.9m), Jonas Lossl (£4.4m) and Andre Gomes (£5.4m) the three set to miss out: "Andre Gomes is out and JP Gbamin as well. With Gomes it's the type of situation where we have to see day by day. He's not doing full training but he's getting better every day.” Morgan Schneiderlin (£4.5m) replaced Gomes Against Bournemouth, though Tom Davies (£5.4m) is also an option.
• Dominic Calvert-Lewin (£5.8m) is set for his 100^thappearance as an Everton player against the team that he left to join the Toffees back in 2016. The forward will be full of confidence after his first goal of the season. His inclusion will likely see Moise Kean (£6.7m) start on the bench.

LEICESTER

• Brendon Rodgers has no fresh injury concerns ahead of the visit of Spurs on Saturday. Only midfielder Matty James (£4.4m) remains in the treatment room. Despite concerns over Ben Chilwell’s (£5.4m) fitness after the left-back trained away from the group on Thursday, Rodgers confirmed he’ll be fine for the weekend: "He just had a bit of recovery inside. He worked inside, but he’s fine. Otherwise, we’ve got all players all fit and well."
• Rodgers seems to have settled on nine of his starting XI in recent weeks, with the two places up for grabs in midfield. Generally, Hamza Choudhury (£4.5m) has been given the nod at the base of the midfield when Rodgers is looking to be slightly more defensive. Further forward, any one of Harvey Barnes (£5.9m), Demarai Gray (£5.3m), Marc Albrighton (£5.4m) or Ayoze Perez (£6.1m) have been rotated in to play alongside James Maddison (£7.1m) and Youri Tielemans (£6.4m). Last week, it was Gray who started but Barnes replaced the winger after 68 minutes. Barnes had started the previous match against Man Utd and looks favourite for the role.

LIVERPOOL

• Liverpool are slowly getting fitter as the manager welcomed back Naby Keita (£5.8m) to full training this week: “Naby Keita is back in training at least, with the team. Today for the first time with the team.”
• Elsewhere, both Alisson (£5.8m) and Divock Origi (£5.4m) have taken a step forward in their respective recovery processes: “Ali is making big progress, but is still away. He had a proper session yesterday with John Achterberg, but is not in team training yet. Div, we have to see day by day, that’s how it was from the first day - how can he deal with the pain and stuff like that. We will see. It is pretty early, so I don’t know exactly what the medical department will tell me today about that case.”
• Mo Salah (£12.5m), Sadio Mane (£11.6m) and Roberto Firmino (£9.5m) will almost certainly continue in attack. In midfield, Georginio Wijnaldum (£5.5m) could return after being rested for the UCL tie against Napoli, while at the back Joe Gomez (£5.3m) will be hoping for a recall after the regular back four all played midweek.

MAN CITY

• With John Stones (£5.4m) being ruled out of action for a number of weeks, Nicolas Otamendi (£5.4m) is now Man City’s only fit centre-back. In the UCL match midweek, Guardiola partnered Fernandinho (£5.3m) with Otamendi at the back as the side secured victory and a clean sheet. After the match, the manager said he had no doubts that the Brazilian could do an excellent job for the team in this position: “We don't have many choices. I think he is the only one I have at centre-back. Other players can play in that position but Fernandinho is a clever player and so intelligent - an incredible guy.”
• The midweek match saw Sergio Aguero (£12.1m) relegated to the bench as Gabriel Jesus (£9.5m) made his return from injury and played a full 90 minutes. Having been afforded a rest, the Argentinian will likely be in the starting XI against Watford. Pep though did have some high praise for Jesus: "To sub Sergio you have to have a top player. I am so delighted with the strikers. When Gabriel Jesus plays, he does absolutely everything. Like he did in Ukraine, not just for the goal, he fights and plays."
• One player yet to be given a break this season is Raheem Sterling (£12.2m), who played 90 minutes again midweek. While Pep may be tempted to drop the Englishman this weekend, City play Preston in the League Cup next Tuesday and this match could offer a better alternative to give Sterling a break.
• Benjamin Mendy (£5.9m) returned to action midweek, as the left-back was brought on for the final few minutes against Shakhtar Donetsk. The defender is one for FPL managers to monitor over the next few weeks, but is unlikely to trouble Oleksandr Zinchenko (£5.6m) for minutes on Saturday, as Pep remains extremely cautious about rushing him back.

MAN UTD

• Solskjaer made nine changes to his starting line-up for the match against Astana midweek, with Marcus Rashford (£8.5m) and Nemanja Matic (£4.8m) the only two to retain their place. With United labouring to a 1-0 win, expect many of those who were rested to come straight back into the starting XI for the match against West Ham.
• Paul Pogba (£8.5m), Anthony Martial (£7.6m) and Luke Shaw (£5.4m) are all once again expected to miss out, while doubts are circulating over the fitness of Daniel James (£6.2m) who Solskjaer described as being “touch and go” when asked about his availability: "I don't know. He's not trained the last few days. Hopefully, but not sure. We'll have a recovery day with everyone tomorrow and we'll see on Saturday."
• After his goal in midweek, Solskjaer has spoken about the possibility of Mason Greenwood (£4.5m) breaking into the first team: "It's always hard to keep players who perform well out of the team. If he keeps scoring goals when he's on the pitch he'll get more minutes in the Premier League as well, and he'll get his first start soon."

NEWCASTLE

• Fabian Schar (£5.0m) has overcome the knock that saw him withdrawn early in the match against Liverpool and is available for the weekend. The match however comes too soon for Sean Longstaff (£5.0m) but Bruce is hopeful the midfielder will be fit for the “end of next week”.
• The manager also confirmed that summer signings Andy Carroll (£5.4m) and Allan Saint-Maximin (£5.4m) will be in his squad for the match against Brighton: “At the top end of the pitch, without him and Allan Saint-Maximin we have been a little bit short – Dwight Gayle (not in FPL) is another one – so we have had limited options up top, and certainly the return of Andy and Allan will give us something that can only benefit us.”

NORWICH

• The injury list at Norwich remains extensive as Cristoph Zimmermann (£4.5m), Max Aarons (£4.5m), Tim Klose (£4.5m), Mario Vrancic (£6.3m), Tom Trybull (£4.5m) and Onel Hernandez (£5.3m) are all still sidelined.
• However, Moritz Leitner (£4.5m) was a welcome sight on the training ground this week, while Patrick Roberts (£5.3m), who was ineligible last week, is also available for selection.
• Grant Hanley (£4.0m) is another who could be fit after making the bench against City, however given the performance of his side in recording a victory over the Champions, Farke may be tempted to keep faith with the same starting XI.

SHEFFIELD UTD

• With Callum Robinson (£5.3m) carrying a couple of knocks from the international break, the midfielder was dropped to the bench last time out and replaced by David McGoldrick (£5.5m). With McGoldrick blanking again, a recall could be in line for Robinson with Wilder stating, "Callum Robinson missed out on Saturday. He had a few issues coming back from international duty but he's raring to go, he's trained really well."
• John Fleck (£4.8m) returned from injury last week and was thrown straight back into the side at the expense of Luke Freeman (£5.4m). After completing 90 minutes, Fleck will likely be the regular starter heading forward.
• Other than the news on Robinson, Wilder provided no further injury updates. Two players who will definitely miss out though are Billy Sharp (£5.8m) through suspension and Muhamed Besic (£4.5m) who is ineligible against his parent club.

SOUTHAMPTON

• Ralph Hassenhuttl has confirmed that Moussa Djenepo (£5.4m) will miss the match against Bournemouth after suffering a recurrence of the muscular problem that kept the midfielder out of GW4.
• On a more positive note, Nathan Redmond (£6.3m) is back training with the squad with the manager set to make a late decision on the player: "After a few sessions this week, he felt a little bit more in his muscles so we don’t want to take this risk and we will keep him out tomorrow. I don’t know if I can grab Nathan for his position. I haven’t decided so far but we one session tomorrow in the morning and then I will decide.”
• Kevin Danso (£4.5m) could return to the starting XI after missing out last week through suspension. Maya Yoshida (£4.4m) was his replacement last week as Hassenhuttl opted for a back three. Given the club kept a clean sheet, he may choose not to change anything at the back.

SPURS

• Maurico Pochettino welcomed back a number of players midweek as Tanguy Ndombele (£6.0m), Dele Alli (£8.4m) and Davinson Sanchez (£5.4m) all returned to the side. For Alli, it was his first start of the season, with the manager stating he’ll be careful to not rush him back: "Dele is a different situation than Christian. He got injured from the beginning of the season. I think it was his first start of the season. He needs time to recover his best feeling. I am happy with him, too."
• Full-backs Serge Aurier (£4.9m) and Danny Rose (£5.5m) didn’t even make the squad for the match against Olympiacos and instead were given an extended rest. Expect both to be recalled to the starting XI on Saturday. Heung-Min Son (£9.6m), Erik Lamela (£6.1m) and Moussa Sissoko (£5.0m) are all in-line to play at the weekend after starting the Champions League match on the bench.
• The manager is still set to be without both Giovano Lo Celso (£7.3m) and Ryan Sessegnon (£5.4m) for the Saturday lunchtime kick-off against Leicester. Lo Celso is out until October, while Sessegnon suffered a setback in his rehabilitation from a hamstring injury. Juan Foyth (£4.9m) is also still out.

WATFORD

• Watford are still without Craig Cathcart (£4.4m) for the match against Man City but Flores is hopeful the defender will return to training next week. Troy Deeney (£6.2m) is also still out with the pair bring joined in the treatment room by Isaac Success (£4.9m).
• Flores sent the team out in a 4-2-3-1 formation for his first game in charge and was pleased with the response from his side as they drew with Arsenal: “One thing we are proving is that it is not just about the players or about the fans – it is about the environment where everyone thinks the same,” he said. “This is very necessary. What I felt on Sunday is that we are as one.”
• On the possibility of Ismail Sarr (£6.4m) starting at the weekend the manager had this to say about the young winger: "He's still really young so we need to be patient. But he's really fast and skilled and a very modern forward. Little by little with him, he needs to understand. Even with the language, he's just speaking French."

WEST HAM

• Arthur Masuaku (£4.5m) will miss the match against Man Utd through suspension and the manager has spoken about this being a great opportunity for Aaron Cresswell (£4.9m) to showcase his talents: "He started the season and played last year with me. He played 50% of the games. For a manager, the best performances come from players when they have competition behind them. Now he has the chance to show his ability."
• Michail Antonio (£6.9m) and Winston Reid (£4.0m) remain out, while midfielder Manuel Lanzini (£6.6m) is a fresh doubt ahead of Sunday’s match: "Manuel Lanzini also has a problem that we will review tomorrow before the game." Should Lanzini not be passed fit, one of Robert Snodgrass (£5.4m) or Pablo Fornals (£6.2m) will likely step into the team.

WOLVES

• Wolves made five changes for their Europa League tie midweek, as Matt Doherty (£6.0m), Morgan Gibbs-White (£4.9m), Ryan Bennett (£5.0m), Patrick Cutrone (£5.8m) and Willy Boly (£5.0m) came into the starting XI.
• After missing the match against Chelsea through suspension and injury respectively, Boly and Bennett are the most probable two to regain their starting position as the defence against Chelsea shipped five goals. This will mean Jesus Vallejo (£4.8m) and Roman Saiss (£4.4m) missing out, though Saiss could move back into the centre of midfield at the expense of Leander Dendoncker (£4.5m). Doherty will also challenge Adama Traore (£5.0m) for the right wing-back slot.
