TEAM NEWS & PREDICTED LINE-UPS

ARSENAL

• The big news out of Arsenal is that Alexandre Lacazette (£9.4m) has been advised to rest his ankle injury for the next few weeks. This would mean the forward will be out until October and should afford the central striking berth to be occupied by Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang (£11.0m).
• Both Paul Tierney (£5.4m) and Hector Bellerin (£5.4m) are ready to step up there intensity as they bid to return to full fitness, though the pair still remain a few weeks away: "Not yet, because it depends on their progress for the next weeks and maybe also we can decide to play at the beginning with the under-23s before to be ready with us." Rob Holding (£4.5m) is, however, available for selection.
• There is no injury for Nicolas Pepe (£9.4m) following his absence from the recent internationals. The move to not call-up Pepe for the Ivory Coast was agreed between club and country as the he instead continued his fitness development programme. Another two that will be available for Sunday are Granit Xhaka (£5.4m) and Lucas Torreira (£4.9m).

ASTON VILLA

• Jonathan Kodjia (£5.4m) is set to remain on the sidelines a little longer despite recovering from his ankle injury. The forward has fractured his cheek bone after a training ground collision and is subsequently out Monday's match against West Ham: "We thought it was fine but they picked up a fracture at the hospital and he’s had an operation which means he will be out for two-three weeks."
• The manager is hopeful of having James Chester (£4.4m) available to play in the next few weeks, with the defender finally shaking off a troublesome hamstring injury. Matt Targett (£4.4m) is another who should be available shortly but Monday will probably come too early for him.
• Trezeguet (£5.3m) will serve the first of his three-match suspension for seeing red last time out. Anwar El Ghazi (£5.5m) is the most natural like-for-like replacement.

BOURNEMOUTH

• Howe has confirmed "Injury-wise, I think we're pretty similar to as we were before the Leicester game." This means Simon Francis (£4.5m), David Brooks (£6.4m), Junior Stanislas (£5.9m), Dan Gosling (£4.9m) and Arnaut Danjuma (£5.8m) are still sidelined while Charlie Daniels (£4.4m) remains a long-term absentee. With Daniels injured, Howe started Nathan Ake (£4.9m) at left-back against Leicester with Chris Mepham (£4.5m) partnering Steve Cook (£5.0m) in central defence.
• In better news, Lloyd Kelly (£4.4m) is set to return to full training for the first time since pre-season. While Saturday will come too early for the left-back, he will be eyeing up that vacant slot: “He won’t be involved this weekend, but it’s a good step forward where he’s around the training group and we’ll look to get him a game as soon as possible." Lewis Cook (£5.0m) is also almost ready for first-team action after completing 90 minutes for the u21’s midweek.

BRIGHTON

• After replacing Shane Duffy (£5.0m) in the starting XI for the match against Man City, Graham Potter has spoken about the impact summer signing Adam Webster (£4.4m) had in the match: "I thought Adam stepped into a big challenge really well against Man City. He's one of a few options that we have at the back and I look forward to working with him."
• On the injury front, the manager will be without Leandro Trossard (£6.0m) for around a month after the midfielder felt something go in his groin last week: "It's early stages with Leandro but he's felt something in his groin - we're probably looking at after the next international break before he's available again." Trossard was replaced by Pascal Gross (£6.5m) after 74 minutes against Man City, with the German the most likely to step in for Trossard against Burnley.
• In better news, Ezequiel Schelotto (not in FPL) has returned to training and could come into contention for Saturday. Another expected to return to training is Yves Bissouma (£5.0m), however Jose Izquierdo (£5.5m) is still sidelined: "Yves Bissouma has had the go ahead to start training with us from next week. Leon Balogun (£4.4m) had a bit of tightness and needs an extra day, but apart from that everyone else has come back fit and ready from their national sides."

BURNLEY

• Sean Dyche confirmed during his press conference that Johann Berg Gudmundsson (£6.0m) is yet to have recovered form his calf strain and is likely to miss out again this weekend: “We will have to make a decision on Johann. Last season he had a few niggles with his calf, so we’ll have to wait and see.” With Gudmundsson struggling for fitness, Aaron Lennon (£4.9m) is likely to continue on the right flank.
• Joining Gudmundsson in the treatment room is midfielder Danny Drinkwater (£4.5m), who is set to miss the next couple of weeks with ankle ligament damage. Other than Gudmundsson and Drinkwater, the rest of the squad are fit as Dwight McNeil (£6.0m) has recovered from the slight back and hamstring injuries that forced him to miss a possible England under-21 debut. Ashley Barnes (£6.7m) has also overcome his minor groin problem.

CHELSEA

• Lampard has confirmed that Chelsea will be still be without N’Golo Kante (£5.0m) for the match against Wolves. However, both Pedro (£7.0m) and Mateo Kovacic (£5.5m) have recovered from their respective knocks: "Pedro is fine. Kovacic is fit to play, N'Golo is not. He's not fit yet. He still has issues with his ankle. This game comes too soon for him. Hopefully close."
• Another who is fine to return to the starting XI is central defender Antonio Rudiger (£6.0m): “He is fit. It’s a choice for myself, but he will have an important role. We have missed him as we have with a few more front line players. It is important in a team. I don’t want a young team for the sake of it. He can be influential. He is ready to take on those roles.” With Rudiger likely to come into the starting XI, one of Kurt Zouma (£4.9m) or Fikayo Tomori (£4.5m) will make way.
• There was no update given by Lampard on the fitness of Emerson (£5.5m), who picked up a knock on international duty. With the left-back still yet to return to training, Marcos Alonso (£6.2m) is in line for his first league start of the season.

CRYSTAL PALACE

• Roy Hodgson confirmed in his presser that both Martin Kelly (£4.1m) and Connor Wickham (£4.5m) will be unavailable for the weekend. In addition to the pair, both Scott Dann (£4.5m) and James McArthur (£5.4m) will also face late fitness tests. If McArthur can’t make it, then James McCarthy (£4.5m) or Victor Camarasa (£4.9m) will likely get their first league start of the season.
• Hodgson stated before the international break that he expected both James Tomkins (£4.5m) and Mamadou Sakho (£4.5m) to be available for the Spurs match. With Tomkins further behind Sakho in his fitness regime, it is likely to be Sakho who gets the nod to partner Gary Cahill (£4.5m) in the Eagles defence.

EVERTON

• Marco Silva has no fresh injury concerns following the international break with Jean-Philippe Gbamin (£5.0m) and Jonas Lossl (£4.5m) the only two missing.
• The manager handed a number of his summer signings their league debut in the 3-2 victory over Wolves as Moise Kean (£6.8m), Fabian Delph (£5.4m) and Alex Iwobi (£5.9m) all broke into the starting XI. The trio performed well and Silva has challenged Iwobi to improve his scoring record: He’s working really well, he has the quality. Many things to keep improving because he can really help our team. He has to score more goals (since leaving Arsenal). The other things is to keep improving is his defensive processes. He has the quality.”

LEICESTER

• With Rodgers confirming that his squad have “all come back, all fine, and all fit and well," following the international break, Matty James (£4.4m) is the only definite absentee for the trip to Old Trafford on Saturday: "He’s been so unfortunate with injuries. We’re not putting any timeline on it." With no other injuries reported, Wes Morgan (£4.3m) has apparently overcome his recent back troubles.
• In previous meetings against the ‘Big Six’ clubs, Rodgers has predominantly rolled out the 4-2-3-1 formation, with Hamza Choudhury (£4.5m) partnering Wilfred Ndidi (£5.0m) at the base of the midfield. A recall for Choudhury to the starting XI would likely mean one of Harvey Barnes (£5.9m) or Marc Albrighton (£5.4m) will drop to the bench.

LIVERPOOL

• There should be no need for either Mo Salah (£12.5m) or Sadio Mane (£11.5m) to be rested this week after the pair were afforded an extended break over the international period. Klopp has been delighted that the two got to relax: "I am happy for them to play for them but I say, for the players who didn't go, everything is different. A very intense period. Sadio and Mohamed have had time off they needed."
• The manager is still yet to give a timescale on the return of Alisson (£5.8m) and simply says the keeper is making progress: "He's improving but we cannot put any pressure on it. It was a really serious injury in the calf and it's now much better of course. We don't know exactly. The target was always after the next international break but we don't know."
• One player who is nearly ready to return to training is Naby Keita (£5.8m), with Klopp saying "Naby is much closer than Ali. I think he could be in training when we come back from Napoli next week." The rest of the squad is fit.

MAN CITY

• Both John Stones (£5.4m) and Gabriel Jesus (£9.5m) are available for selection after recovering from their respective knocks over the international break. The manager has also confirmed that Ilkay Gundogan (£5.3m), who has been struggling with a stomach bug in recent days, is fit: “Stones is good. Jesus is back too. Gundogan had a stomach problem but he trained good in the last two days.”
• The manager has also provided an update on the injury to Aymeric Laporte (£6.4m), with the defender expected back sometime early in 2020: "Not long, five months, six months, next year... January or February." On the possibility of Stones replacing the Frenchman in the starting XI, Guardiola simply said “yes” he was an option.
• Benjamin Mendy (£5.9m) is also doing well in his attempts to return from a long-standing knee injury. The manager won’t be pushed into rushing the Frenchman back though: "Knee’s reacting well so hopefully in the next few games he can be involved. With what happened in the last two seasons we want to be careful and be sure when he starts to play. One thing is training, the other is higher competition."

MAN UTD

• Manchester United are facing something of a mini-injury crisis ahead of the weekend, with no fewer than seven players in the treatment room. At the top of the list is Paul Pogba (£8.5m), who is expected to be out until next week at the earliest: "Pogba won't be fit, no, unless he's had a miraculous recovery overnight from yesterday to today or maybe from tonight to tomorrow. He's not been ready to do 100 per cent training, no."
• Pogba is joined on the sidelines by fellow Frenchman, Anthony Martial (£7.7m), whose recovery from a hamstring injury is going slower than expected: "We hope, as I've said, more can be ready for West Ham next week and Paul and Anthony are in that category. I think they'll be ready for then and I can't say more than that really."
• Luke Shaw (£5.4m) is also still injured along with Diogo Dalot (£4.9m) and Eric Bailly (£4.9m). Meanwhile, Solskjaer has stated that both Aaron Wan-Bissaka (£5.5m) and Jesse Lingard (£6.4m) were only "maybes" and that he "can't promise those two will be available either".
• With the injuries to so many first team players, OGS has spoken about his other senior players Juan Mata (£6.4m), Nemanja Matic (£4.8m) and Ashley Young (£5.4m) having to step up: "You’ve got players who can come in with loads of experience, you've got Juan, Nemanja and Ash. They're the ones who didn’t start the first game that have got to step up."

NEWCASTLE

• Sean Longstaff (£5.0m) has been ruled out of the match on Saturday after rolling his ankle in training: “Unfortunately Sean Longstaff turned an ankle in training so won’t be in contention for Saturday. It’s one of those freak injuries. We won’t know how severe it is for a couple of days.” Longstaff’s injury should provide Jonjo Shelvey (£5.0m) a route back into the starting XI.
• The manager also confirmed that Matt Ritchie (£5.5m) is making remarkable progress following the ankle injury he suffered before the international break: "He’s shocked us all. We weren’t expecting to see him for a couple of months, but with the way he’s trained – as long as there’s no reaction – I don’t think he’s too far away.” As Ritchie is still absent, Jetro Willems (£4.5m) is set to continue in his stead.
• In better news Allan Saint-Maximin (£5.5m) has made “great progress” and could be involved on Saturday. Almiron (£5.9m) has also returned injury free from international duty after there were fears he suffered a knee injury with Paraguay.

NORWICH

• It’s a case of last man standing at Norwich with the club in an injury crisis as a number of their defenders are set to be absent for the match against Man City. Cristoph Zimmermann (£4.5m) has been ruled out until January, while Grant Hanley (£4.0m) is also “not available” for the match. Ben Godrey (£4.5m) has suffered a groin strain on international duty and is a “major doubt”, while Tim Klose (£4.5m) “doesn’t need surgery” but is still “out for nine months”. Max Aarons (£4.5m) is another who won’t be available on Saturday.
• Further up the field, Moritz Leitner (£4.5m) is out with a calf strain, while Tom Trybull (£4.5m) damaged his ligaments against West Ham and “won't come back before the next international break.” Mario Vrancic (£6.0m) has also been ruled out by the manager, with a calf strain. This may mean a midfielder pairing of Kenny McLean (£4.9m) and Alexander Tettey (£4.5m) for the Canaries.
• Sam Byram (£4.4m) played right-back for the club in the League Cup, while midfielder Ibrahim Amadou (£4.5m) replaced Zimmerman at the back when he came off injured after 35 minutes last time out. Philip Heise (£4.0m) could come in at left-back with Jamal Lewis (£4.5m) taking the left-sided centre-back role.

SHEFFIELD UTD

• Wilder has given an injury update on both Callum Robinson (£5.3m) and David McGoldrick (£5.5m) after the pair left international duty early: "A couple of the Irish boys came back early but I believe Mick was going to change the team around on Tuesday anyway. That gave Callum and Dave the chance to come back and have treatment with us. We’ll give them every chance of being fit for Saturday.” As both Robinson and McGoldrick are facing late fitness tests, Oliver McBurnie (£5.9m) is set for his second start of the season.
• Another who will be given every chance to prove his fitness is midfielder John Fleck (£4.9m), who has been missing since injuring himself against Crystal Palace in GW2. Luke Freeman (£5.4m) has been performing well since replacing Fleck and should keep his spot for another week.

SOUTHAMPTON

• Ralph Hassenhuttl has confirmed that Nathan Redmond (£6.3m) is still unavailable, although his recovery from an ankle injury is progressing well: “Everybody is back from their international games without injuries, so that’s good news. The bad news is that Nathan is still not available, but he is making progress.” With Redmond still out, Sofiane Boufal (£5.5m) is set to continue in midfield.
• The manager is also unlikely to risk Moussa Djenepo (£5.4m), despite the midfielder having returned to training this week: “With Moussa it looks better; we aren’t sure whether it is enough to play this weekend. We’ll have to look. He can bring us something special, he showed it in the few minutes he’s played so far that he can make a difference. The chances are not that big, but let’s see. I don’t want to take too much risk because it’s a very busy September.”
• Defender Kevin Danso (£4.5m) is suspended following his red card against Man United, so Ryan Bertrand (£4.9m) is expected to slot straight back in at left-back following his return from injury.

SPURS

• Maurico Pochettino has welcomed back a number of players to training over the international break with Tanguy Ndombele (£6.0m), Ryan Sessegnon (£5.4m), Kyle Walker-Peters (£4.9m) and Eric Dier (£4.9m) all returning: “We need to assess [Sessegnon] tomorrow. The same with Tanguy Ndombele and Kyle Walker-Peters. We have got seven games in 21 days. It is going to be tough and we need everyone at their best.”
• Unfortunately there are still a number of players in the treatment room. Giovani Lo Celso (£7.4m) has been ruled out until October after injuring himself when with Argentina, while Davinson Sanchez (£5.5m) is struggling with an ankle complaint. Juan Foyth (£5.0m) is getting closer but is still not yet ready to return to training.
• With the future around Christian Eriksen (£8.8m) settled, at least for now, Pochettino has spoken about his creative midfielder: "He has always been happy here. Of course, everyone has their aims and challenges but I told you before the Arsenal game that he was in the right mind. That’s why I selected him. He is such an important player for us and one we appreciate a lot."
• With Dele Alli (£8.4m) finally fit again, the manager has been extremely cautious about bringing the English midfielder back into the starting line-up. With Alli well-rested after not travelling with England during the international break, the match against Crystal Palace may be the right time for a recall for the player.

WATFORD

• A different man is now in charge at Watford after Javi Gracia was dismissed following the side's poor start to the season. The ‘new’ manager is actually an old one, as the club has rehired Quique Sanchez Flores. The manager preferred a 4-4-2 when at Vicarage Road last time around and will likely line the team up the same way again.
• Flores' first decision will be deciding who he trusts at the centre of his defence with Craig Cathcart (£4.4m) joining Troy Deeney (£6.3m) on the injury list. The head coach suggested there may be opportunities for fringe players to break into the first team under his watch, and Cathcart’s absence could be an opportunity for Christian Kabasele (£4.4m), Adrian Mariappa (£4.4m) or Sebastian Prödl (£4.0m).
• The manager is generally more defensive-minded than his predecessor and may opt for stability over style in his first match away to Arsenal. A recall for Tom Cleverley (£4.9m) to the starting XI may be on the cards, while Craig Dawson (£4.9m) could move too right-back as insurance over the attack-minded Daryl Jammaat (£4.4m).

WEST HAM

• Manuel Pellegrini has confirmed that midfielder Michail Antonio (£6.9m) underwent a successful operation on his injured hamstring and is now likely to be out for the foreseeable future. Centre-back Winston Reid (£4.0m) joins Antonio as the only two absentees for West Ham’s Monday night match against Aston Villa: “We have no new injuries following the international break and we have all the players fit except Winston Reid and Michail Antonio, who had surgery on his leg.”
• The manager has waxed lyrical over the form of creative midfielder Manuel Lanzini (£6.6m), discussing what an important player for the Hammer’s the Argentinian is: "It's very good to have Manu back, I hope he continues to create so many chances over the rest of the season. He will keep improving and I think he can take one step more."

WOLVES

• Matt Doherty (£6.0m) has recovered from his knee surgery and will be pushing Adama Traore (£5.0m) for the right wing-back spot. Roman Saiss (£4.5m) and Leander Dendoncker (£4.5m) have also recovered from their minor knocks picked up during the international break.
• Willy Boly (£5.0m) will be suspended for the match against Chelsea following his red card against Everton. His absence will allow either Saiss or Jesus Vallejo (£4.9m) a rare Premier League start.
• Raul Jimenez (£7.4m) could be rested given he was playing for Mexico in the early hours of Wednesday morning. The games come thick and fast for Wolves, what with their Europa League commitments, and this could be a good opportunity for Patrick Cutrone (£5.8m) to get another start.
