FPL Gameweek 15 – head-to-head comparisons: Sergio Aguero vs Timo Werner
Before the start of the season, both Sergio Aguero (£10.3m) and Timo Werner (£9.3m) would have been considered exciting FPL picks with both forwards expected to find the net numerous times in this season's Premier League. Fast forward a few months though and unfortunately that has not been the case. Aguero has been blighted by a combination of injury and illness, that has contributed to the Man City striker not having scored in the Premier League this season. Werner has played over 1000 minutes more than Aguero in this season's campaign but has only netted four goals himself.
Man City host Newcastle in Gameweek 15, whilst Chelsea undertake a local derby as they meet Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium. If City manager Pep Guardiola could give us a clear indication in his pre match press conference about the chances of Aguero starting or not, it would make our decision a lot easier here. The Argentinian would be our pick without a shadow of a doubt if he was guaranteed to start in Gameweek 15. Without that confirmation however, Werner would prove a much safer option despite the German being in such poor form in front of goal. We like a gamble here at FPL towers though and Aguero's 15 goals in 11 appearances against the Magpies leads us to take a risk and back the FPL legend to get us one more big haul against the Geordies.
