FPL – head-to-head comparisons: Marcos Alonso vs Cesar Azpilicueta

Chelsea defenders have been potentially glossed over this summer due to the change in manager and transfer ban but they do represent good value. Chelsea kept 16 clean sheets last season with only Liverpool (21) and Man City (20) keeping more, and while Lampard may field a more attacking line-up than Maurizio Sarri, it is unlikely they will decline that much. They have quality defenders who are well protected by Jorginho and Kante, and Alonso and Azpilicueta are strong options once again. Marcos Alonso (£6.5m) still tallied well last year and figures to do so once again as their first-choice left-back and he may just score higher than Azpilicueta thanks to his better attacking returns.
