Facundo Diaz Acosta vs Sebastian Baez Prediction

Facundo Diaz Acosta eased past Cam Norrie in the first round 6-2 6-3 and that came after being handed a reprieve as a lucky loser after he was eliminated in the qualifying by Luca Nardi.

The 24-year-old was in reasonable form especially with his return game but Norrie was particularly poor making it hard to read too much into that win.

He faces compatriot Sebastian Baez who he knows well and has played twice before on the Tour. Baez has won both of their previous meetings which came last year and both came on clay.

They were comprehensive straight-set wins and while this will have a different on hard surface, Baez will be confident against Diaz Acosta. Baez is seeded at number three in Auckland and while he has yet to get going and had a bye in the first round, he should have enough of an edge over Diaz Acosta to get the win here.
