Evan Elder vs Gauge Young prediction
Evan Elder (9-2) is looking to make it three wins in a row but he will have to handle a late change in opponent after Ahmad Sohail Hassanzada following is arrest and subsequently being pulled from the card. The 28-year-old now faces Gauge Young (9-2) and he will have to adjust for his new opponent.
Elder has won his last two fights which is all the more impressive given the fact he lost his previous two fights that were his first in the UFC. After a unanimous decision victory over Genaro Valdez, he submitted Darrius Flowers last July and comes into this fight with good confidence.
24-year-old Gauge Young makes his UFC debut with just five days’ notice but the talented youngster will not care about that. The striker has good knockout power and his last six wins have all come by KO/TKO. There will be no surprises as to how he will approach this fight and he will be eager to keep this fight standing throughout.
Elder is a little more well-rounded than his opponent and he may well decide to take it to the mat but the likelihood is that he backs himself and trades. Elder has to be favoured with experience on his side but Young certainly has the puncher’s chance.
Prediction: Evan Elder to win
