Eva Lys vs Teodora Kostovic prediction

Eva Lys made a stunning start to the season by reaching the fourth-round of the Australian Open as a lucky loser, while her first WTA 1000 win in Dubai a month later saw her enter the top 80 of the world rankings for the first time.

Her recent form has been patchier, with a quarter-final defeat on clay at La Bisbal d’Emporda as the number one seed followed up by a heavy defeat to Jasmine Paolini in the first-round of the Stuttgart Open.

Teodora Kostovic is set to make her WTA 1000 debut after receiving a wildcard in the qualifying rounds and making it through by beating top-100 player Elena-Gabriela Ruse and Lucrezia Stefanini. In terms of this season, she withdrew midway through her second-round match of the juniors at the Australian Open and couldn’t make it out of qualifying for Abu Dhabi and Miami.

It will be a wonderful occasion for the 17-year-old and perhaps the first of many appearances on the main tour, but Lys should be good value to win in straight sets.
