England Form: Title charge is on?

England bounced back from their opening weekend defeat to Ireland by overcoming tournament favourites France in dramatic circumstances two weeks ago.

In a topsy-turvy encounter in which the lead changed hands three times in the final ten minutes, a late Elliot Daly try, and subsequent Finn Smith conversion, was enough to give the hosts a 26-25 victory in Twickenham.

Scotland Form: Inconsistency reigns

Scotland delivered a disappointing performance against reigning champions Ireland at Murrayfield last time out, losing 32-18 in a contest where the scoreline admittedly flattered them.

Having gone 17-0 down in seemingly no time at all, the Scots were always fighting an uphill battle from there on in and the two-week break since that loss has likely come at a good time as it has allowed head coach Gregor Townsend to hit the reset button.

England vs Scotland Prediction

England are a team rejuvenated following their last-gasp victory over the heavily-fancied France, and they now contest the Calcutta Cup hoping to snap an unwanted four-game losing run against the Scots.

Scotland boast a talented squad but they remain inconsistent and they have all too often not showed up in the big matches. They are certainly capable of competing with the hosts but England have the fire in their belly right now and look the likelier winner in what is the oldest rugby match in existence.
